I got back to town to find a whole bunch of new memberships. Thanks to all that renewed and welcome to new members: Suzanne Bracy (soon to be), Alyie Dorko, Mary Dudzik, Robin Emery, Helen Keeney, Ned Keeney, Peter Keeney, Stephen Kirby, Tom Kirby, Megan McOsker, Annie Painter, David Painter, Maggie Painter, CeCelia Palow, Meridith Randolph. Six of the new members are youngsters ranging from 6 to 15. Hopefully the running club can organize some activities in the coming year to help support their involvement and promote healthy lifestyles. Did the minutes from the Dec 16th EDEN meeting ever get posted? Kevin Wednesday evening track workouts at the MDI High School. All paces are welcome and guidance is provided. Workouts start at 5:30 pm so arrive earlier for warm-ups. The workouts are usually completed by 6:30 or 7:00 pm. Suggestions for people new to the track - Begin a track workout with a warm-up that includes a mile or two of easy running, some stretching and five or six strides or accelerations, with good recovery after each. At the end of the workout, cool down with a mile or two of easy running and some stretching. Here's an idea in order to get to know each other a bit better. Every Friday when we post our daily run or walk to tag on a TUSAY (tell us something about yourself). It can be anything you want to share - family, career, hobbies, weird habits. Who ever catches the most falling leaves during tomorrow's Sunday’s run wins the club's standard and usual prize - public notoriety on our web site and praise from your running peers. Brian, I don't say this often enough - Thank you for the all the time and dedication you provide us on our running club's CROWATHLETICS.COM web site. You should feel very proud of your efforts and you should know how appreciated it is. Kevin Anne MacNeil asked me to post the following information for for a race she is helping to organize. She was here a few summers ago and ran with the Crows a few times. Cape Breton Fiddlers Run 1st annual running of the Cape Breton Fiddlers Run Run our Boston qualifier marathon or enjoy our half marathon, 10K, 5Km or youth run. Kit pick up, Expo and Trade Show, Delta Sydney Friday, Oct. 28 6 PM, Saturday 9AM. I recently had some new memberships and some renewals for our running club forwarded to me from Ryan King, Ed Ganz, Tom and Stephen Kirby, Kim Harper, Joe Mitchell, Keith and Brian Sharkey, and Dale Dickey.
