I have to say that I am a bit disappointed with how the VCM went. Nonetheless, I fully own and accept that this is the best I was able to do on this day -- no excuses. I will admit, however, to not feeling any better than 80% healthy over the past few weeks, I just didn't think it would affect my performance so much. It was quite disheartening to reach mile 20 and find myself a full 40 minutes off of my time at this spring's Eastern States 20-mile.

So I've decided that I'm going to come down to the island to do an easy slow 20m tomorrow (Tuesday morning) using the 10m loop that Gary mentioned in this post. I'd like to start at 9:30am and anyone and everyone is highly encouraged to come along for whatever portion of the distance you'd like.

I do, however, need someone to tell me how to get to Jordan Pond House to start...

My migraine of last week has been on-and-off for the past several days...I didn't leave my house between Thursday and Sunday. Yesterday was the first day that I was able to get outside and run, although I won't say that the rest was a bad thing. I think this bout of migraine is finally over.

Anyway, I'm running the Vermont City Marathon in my hometown on May 29th and I really need to get in one last long run ~20 miles. I'll be out of town this weekend and unable to go long, but is there anyone who'd be interested in doing a run of that length (slow!) early during the week next week?

Hey all, I was wondering if you could help me with something...

I'm trying to convince my younger brother to come live in Ellsworth with me for the summer, but, since he's still in college, he needs to make a chunk of money.

He's currently on a semester abroad program in St. Petersberg, Russia so I'm trying to help him (and myself ;-)) out a little bit.

He really enjoys working as a cook in restaurants (which he's been doing since he was 13 or 14, I think) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of Island restaurants that might be hiring for the summer...

What's YOUR run?

'Cause hey...someone's gotta do it. What's YOUR run?
Me, I just keep reloading the Boston pages ;-)

Thanks to everyone who wished me luck! It was a great day! I went into this race on a whim...I had a 20 mile planned for that day anyway and decided it would be more fun to do with a few hundred people, aid stations, etc. One of the biggest challenges was going to be preventing myself from getting swept away in the adrenaline tide.

A change of pace for myself anyway...I believe this is my first post to the forum that actually has to do with [i:ff2ef9237b]running[/i:ff2ef9237b]...not that I don't enjoy talking about web stuff...b
