Lenoid Showers tonight should be fine, tomorrow night too
followed by hip xrays. The hospital now takes them digitally - no films. I hope I still get to see the pictures.
I'm trying a 3 wk cycle of 'swim emphasis'. then run, then bike, cross-training throughout. so today...form emphasis....
300 warm up 10 x 25 (15s) 2 x 50 (20s)
the big thing is 'form', and i was tired after this little bit. so that's all for today. Maybe I'll have swimming posts like Alyie someday.
11 miles with Matt F.
Thanks Michele and Shannon for your support out by Bubble yesterday. Michele that was very kind of you to offer up any pace in such yucky weather conditions- very sweet. Sorry if I didn't seem so appreciative at the time, I was pretty wiped. Just one of those days, ended up with 5 miles..... Feeling great today! Aunt Betty's with Karen and Marion at a comfy, cozy pace- just what I needed!
working last night I saw Judson on his last mile for the day, mile 30, it was about 8pm when he ran by the restaurant. I should have thrown him some bread.
While I was on my last mile this morning Matt and I were right behind your group that had just started. But you probably had your Ipod on and didn't here us and I was too tired to yell.
Well it's 1, I guess I should go run again.
...except for abs and pushups.
I finally got my long (for some) run in, 11.5mi. From Duck Brook, around WHP counterclockwise, then down to EL and around it clockwise and back to DB. It was so nice I even wore shorts! Slow pace, I was on the modified Tom Kirby plan last week (sans swedish fish and mt. dew) and I need to be able to do EL in the morning.
I saw Judson about halfway through my run, he was probably at about mile 37 of the day or something by the time I saw him :)
Did Giant Slide/7Bridges/Sargent/Parkman loop for the first time sans bike today. Nice easy pace with a couple of quick stops for pictures. 1:17:30. I definitely prefer climbing to descending. What a great day!
Oh, and I ordered the Chi Running book for the stores. Anybody have any feedback? I'm also reading Born to Run with the skeptical mindset of one who does NOT believe that people should consume fewer running shoes.
heard good things about that book.
11 miles after lunch. Saw Ms. D.
My left foot had some pain during the end and I've iced it, but any pain when I go out later and I won't be afraid to go inside and have a beer and enjoy the rest of the week with some shorter runs.
Excellent approach overall. I also have the DVD which covers the most of the essential book contents. I have incorporated most of the Chi aspects to my running over the past couple years. My right knee meniscal cartilage was found with degenerative tearing last year and I believe it is the Chi mid-foot leaning that allows me to run now, mostly pain free. Infact if I feel more pain now it reminds me to return to the Chi running stride and the discomfort really disappears.
It takes awhile to " get " , at least for me. I still don't toe entirely straight forward but the lean has been most important, opening up your stride length behind.
Good move
What time is the best time for viewing, and in what direction? Yes, I know, look up :)
