I was wondering if I might be able to catch a ride back to the island w/ someone after the Turkey Trot in Brewer. My friend RJ is visiting, and he will be running in his very first race tomorrow. After the race, he's headed back to Thomaston.

Planning to run around EL in a little bit here.

For me today. Some ambient miles biking around town, beneath racing gray clouds and amid faded blowing leaves.

with Jean who seems to know everyone on the carriage roads. makes for a very social run.

What a great day! Not only did we get to visit CeCelia at UMF today...we surprised her and brought Desiree with us! We all had great races. Haydn ran 21:35 for 15th male overall and 3rd in AG, Desiree ran 23:27 for 5th female overall and 1st in AG, and I ran 23:59 for 6th female overall and 2nd in AG. This is why I am very pleased. This race has a MONSTER hill in the middle...Desiree and I agree that is it comparable, if not worse, than the one in the Bar Harbor 5-k. I ran 24:06 at Rolling Bones....so today I ran faster on a course that was WAY more challenging. I wanted sub 24...and even though I only got it by one second, I am pleased.

I found it curious they did not award or recognize first male and female overall, only age groups.

Afterward, we walked to the best little place for lunch called Soup For You. Many varieties of delicious soup along with sandwiches on thick slices of yummy homemade bread and decadent lattes...what more could a girl want?
