11.7 with Matt F. Windy, but nice enough to go without pants.
Signed up for the Mount Washington bike climb. I've gone all in, now with a lot of hard work, the right rest and luck if there is such a thing I can ride well.
Down to 143lb, 13 less than last year at this time. Boom, sparks are going to fly at Midwinter one way or the other.
I simply cannot imagine you even being able to spare 13 pounds. Wow. I can't wait to hear how Sunday goes!!!
Proper diet was the one thing I never worked at. Mostly I've cut out eating all the bags of cookies and eating 3rds and 4ths at every meal. I was always affraid I'd get too weak. Hasn't happened yet and I've been amazed with the results so far. 4:10 downhill mile with no speed training and then that 15:06 5-k off of no fast workouts. I think to race a marathon I'd put some weight back on, but anything under 80 minutes I thin kmy current condition is ideal.
Lovely, according to the doctor's scale you and I weight the same.
No pants?!
Maybe you'll get the big prize this year at the downhill mile for under 4:00 as you don't have those bags of cookies weighing you down :)
Triple Loop around Castine. Nice to run on clear roads again.
+ 20 min on the ET & some kettlebell swings. Life is good in the hood.
Brian and I headed out after dark for an easy run. Stars were very nice. It's not like the sky is falling, but it seemed like it. Brian dragged me along for just over 4 miles before I got an extra mile in solo. Then my drills, lifting, and plyos after along with some uphill strides. Last session of that stuff until after the 10-miler.
Intervals.
Interesting about the weight Judson. We have talked about this a lot and I know you will be glad to be without that weight when you are climbing MtW but maybe I will still be able to keep up with you on descents and flats. I think a bigger part of the reason behind your recent running success is the biking. Your running injuries are getting a chance to heal while you are doing different but beneficial exercise. Also there is the head thing. Running is not your only goal and that makes it easier.
Brian did not mention the stars. Sounds dreamy.
YA, those outdoors especially Sunday freezed my membranes so I give it up to ya'll. 5mil on the treadmill.
5mLs.
I wanted to inform my legs that vacation from speedwork has officially ended. :)
1 mile warmup 16 minutes of: 1 min @ 8:30, 1 min @ 7:30 1 mile cooldown
All at 1% incline. Feeling very good. Transitioning to a new rest day (Saturday) since I am starting my new job Monday.
As of 10pm only 32 spots are left for the Mount Washington bike climb. Probably be filled up by tomorrow.
