Let a little sunshine in
Chin up, chin up Everybody loves a happy face Wear it, share it It'll brighten up the darkest place Twinkle, sparkle Let a little sunshine in You'll be on the right side Looking at the bright side Up with your chinny chin chin!

65 min yoga. And 45 min cycling. Order, however, was run, walk, bike, yoga.
Run: 8 mi in 64:04, the latter part with 5 x [1 min fast, 1 min recovery @ 7.7 mph], then 2, 3, 4 min fast with 1 min recoveries. Walked a mile to cool down.
Both running and yoga get me 'into my body' (or out of my head - whichever you want to call it) in very different ways, both pleasant. Like yin and yang.
Don't tell Ginger you want to get "into your body." She will be driving to Orono to give you a private Zumba lesson!!!! LOL
I'd prefer ballet, though. So expressive. And I'd get to wear those fun little leg warmers.
Outside.
to mention yesterday that I'm all signed up for the 1/2 Marathon :) It's filling up fast!
I am pretty salty when I am done running: my face is salty and I often have a white/salt? line on my clothes (shorts and sport bra).
When do people take electrolyte tablets? Can you take a gel, electrolyte, gel, etc? What is the recommended nutrition for a marathon?
Weigh yourself before and after a couple workouts and you can tell how much fluid you've lost.
I don't have my ACSM guideline book in front of me, so I can't tell you how many mg of salt or other electrolytes you'd need, in general, per 1 L of fluid. I'll see if I can dig that book up tomorrow.
Marathon IN RACE nutrition is generally 100 cal every 4-5 miles, if you think about that you're burning up most of your glycogen by mile 20 and need another 600 calories to get through the rest of the race, that should work out right.
As for when people take electrolyte tablets, don't know, never used them. I either drink gatorade or eat the clif margarita shot bloks, which happily are sallllty :-)
Infinit is a company that will tailor a sports drink to your body - you can adjust how much of each electrolyte and protein etc you want in it - pricey though.
As with all nutrition during exercise recommendations: try it in training and see what works. I think whatever you choose, it is advisable to make little water bottles with motivational sayings on them and Gu duct taped to them.
It's nice out. I planted seeds prematurely but this weather makes me think it's almost appropriate.
Yesterday I ran out onto the Goose Cove Rd and then back. And I can't remember how long that took me. How early do you have to worry about memory loss?
Ginger would make a great advocate/promoter of Zumba. Almost as good as Tom is at selling Swedish Fish. I was afraid of red dye #40 until meeting him; now I kind of believe his theory that it holds immunity-boosting capabilities...
with Melissa & Caroline. Caroline, who is 3, was pointing out all the parked cars for me, along with helicopters, and a cloud that looked like a horse. We were having too much fun and missed a turn or it would have been a "Super 6". Life is good in the hood. Michele, Dr. Dave was telling me that a lot of salt on your skin and/or clothes is a sign that you may ineed need to take tablets to replace the salt (& maybe other electrolytes). I'm clearly not an expert and hope Dr. Dave is bopping through the Daily Log and gives you a good answer.
Six outside. Really nice temps for running. Today seemed to be dog day on bayview. I had my dog and we passed 7 dogs which on an out and back is 14 opportunities for my dog to bark, whimper, pull, and generally misbehave while I'm trying to run. She's a good dog though: )
heard sounds of raking today.
Is this the same outfit that sent Nora's and Maggie's and Annie's gymnastics team home early twice last week with bleeding eardrums?
Yup. And an ear-ache.
I've only been to the morning class, I am planning to go this Thur. evening. That's too bad about the volume and the gymnastics team, I understand how distracting and painful it must be. Painful for me too....everything BUT my ears hurt for three days.
Sorry girls:(
felt hard, knee is now sore, bad Zumba.
Wish I had run outside. I watched the daylight while I was on the TM, and now know I have enough light on Tues and Thurs to do my easy three outside after work.
Workout tomorrow! I'm going to the track!!! :)
seawall-bass harbor and back, love this run. I do it every spring to get it back! Thanks Brian for fixing me up. Oh, and I did my core stuff too.
Joined Doug for a good, brisk run out Schooner Head way. As others have reported, it was a great day to get out and enjoy a run. My only wish is that the sun had made its appearance just a bit sooner to increase my enjoyment.
