Saturday, May 8: Daily Log

What's your run?

lim x --> 30 min.

4.33 in that threshold section; 11.2 on the day in 82 min.

ice bath!!!

Today...

no run for me.

Hope everyone at the Ellworth Tri is having a blast!

Tomorrow, I plan on 8@8 with JohnS, then minimal miles the rest of the week 'til Sunday.

Getting wicked nervous for the loaf.

75 miniutes

on the arc trainer at the Y. Very encouraging to see everyone competing in the tri there. I almost didn't go this morning, but told myself if those people can compete in that race than I can get my butt in there and workout on the arc.

plus

it is always good to see Michelle suffer some of what she makes you go thru and i am thinking if she is doing the swim part it maybe the only time she is not yapping about something !

Good luck...

to all those who tri their best in the rain today!

23 miles

Ran Hull's Cove to Around the Mountain to Jordan to Bubble to Eagle to Hull's Cove with Terry at a relaxed pace. Cool, cloudy, but dry, to my astonishment. Turned out to be a great day for a long run, and I felt good. I have to admit that I'm glad that's my last 20+ outing for a while though.

Looks like the tri folks hit the dry slot too :-) I hope you all had great races.

And Diane, I'm not going to tell you not to be nervous, because that's not realistic before a first marathon. It's OK to be nervous, just don't question yourself or get fearful. You've done the work, you can go the distance!

venting

Nice work Jason on the arc and John at the tri.

My secret dream (although no longer secret) has always been to win a race, although I knew it likely would never happen. Nevertheless, this has been a goal of mine. So last year at the Hope Tri I placed first female overall and what do you know - they do not give awards. Hope is a low key race, so i was cool with that. So today, no errors withstanding (the Y is notorious for that), beyond my wildest expectation I placed 1st OVERALL and what do you know . . . they did not recognized the overall winners.

What a BUMMER...!

I will have to keep working to place first in a bigger race. Isn't Sugarloaf next weekend...lol!

Michele

You'll always be a winner to me :) Awesome job finishing first overall, you rock!!

congrats Michele

you know what you accomplished, and we think you're great. glad it went so well for you.

what were

your splits?

they are not avaiable yet. Th

they are not yet available. They also changed the bike course this year. T1 was horrible, so bad it was funny. Off to the bhb shop. My gear cable is completely frayed.

dude

Michele, you may be peeved but that is awesome, you should be proud of what you have accomplished. That is totally awesome! Again, you rock!

9 in the dry zone

running today in the dry zone although chilly. 6mi easy with Don round EL, then 3mi at 9:30 pace...marathon pace I would like to think. I'm looking forward to 15k at Sugarloaf next weekend. I've never been to this event and besides that, I want to cheer for Diane when she crosses the finish line.

3 miles @ HH

Nice and easy.

Michele, I don't blame you for feeling frustrated. I would be, too. But don't let it take away from your wonderful accomplishment that you have been working hard for. Congratulations! You are in great shape, keep it up!

Speaking of secret dreams, mine has always been to be Athlete of the Week. Even with the huge improvements I've made since my first marathon back in 2002 (time of 6:47) I have never been recognized. :( *whining over now* lol

Rest day

much needed. legs tired. raining. happy not to run today.

8.3M

ran a training PR on my loop in Stockton today. Congratulations Michelle on your win today!

Chicago waterfront

Changed into my running stuff straight after the meeting and went for a 6 mile run at the waterfront in downtown Chicago. Found out why this is called the Windy City.

95:34

Overall total for the tri. I enjoyed it, I too need help in the transition zone area (not to mention the whole swimming zone, lol).. I felt strong and the rain held off. Super Michelle smoked me by 12 minutes. Now if I had a road bike I'm sure I could shave her lead down to 10:)

5.6 mi

Witch Hole loop with two trips around Paradise Hill just under 45 min..
Fairly easy after a hard bike ride yesterday: 8:30 warmup mile, 7:30 second mile, steady 8s around P Hill and back to the bridge. Feel great. I fancy the climbing.

I recognize you Michele!! Great job!!

I feel much better now that I

I feel much better now that I am all recognized.
