I'v got 4 on for after work tomorrow. 5 days 'til Sugarloaf. Feeling a little crazy.

You

mean synonyms not homonyms, I believe.

Homonyms are when two words share the same spelling and pronunciation but have different meanings.
Synonyms are when two different words meaning different things are spelled differently but the same pronunciation.

Or perhaps I'm wrong - the wiki, um, isn't clear.

For Jeeper's sake don't muddle up your nyms, Eden!

Can't let it slide

Synonyms are two (or more) words with the same or similar meanings. For example:
Mike Bunker thinks gaunt is beautiful.
Mike Bunker thinks skinny is sexy.
Mike Bunker is of the opinion that attenuated is attractive.
All those sentences have the same meaning.
And that the end of today's lesson. I've got some worksheets on synonyms available if anyone is interested. Or just read a thesaurus.
(Credit to M. Bunker and JK Rowling for cementing the word gaunt in my mind)

homophones

Just stumbled upon this...and I think we are looking for homophones. Spelled differently, pronounced the same.

Semantics

I believe Alyie was referring to the looser, less-technical usage of homonym, see paragraph 2 of the wiki.
