Runner wanted: A friend and her husband are coming here in the fall for the marathon, and he is looking for a relay partner. He is 44 years old and runs about a 1:35 half. If anyone is interested, please email me and I can get you all in touch. She is also interested in some relay events in the New England area for 2011, I'd love that info to pass on to her as well. :)

Nice day for a ride

Very enjoyable ride this morning with Britt, Julie, and Beth. I rode from my house to Britt's and from there we went around Indian Point. Since Julie just got back to Maine she made a point of taking the scenery ALL in and as her spanking new bike experienced some shifting problems we all rode "the sympathy gear." I made sure to ride behind Julie. It gave me about 41 miles.

Also got a nice strong 1 hour ride with Tim Tunney yesterday after work. He will be a force to contend with on the bike.

45 on the arc, should go outs

45 on the arc, should go outside and do some yard work.

Around and up Day Mountain twice.

Tried for longish pickups (in the approx 1200-1800m range) with shortish recoveries (in the 400m range) instead of not pushing so hard on the hills. Nice cool day for it, Eden.

I was in the DC area all week at a conference, and while I snuck out for decent runs at dawn each day, they were slow.

So I needed a little pace work upon my return and toured WHP at a good clip this afternoon. Ran 1 mile wu, 4 miles in 26:34 according to Garmin, and warmed down .5 miles jogging and a little walking. The effort was a little too high--I should have run 6:50s or so on that terrain--but it felt good.

Will anyone be at EL at 8:00 tomorrow? I'd like to run a relaxed tri-lakes.

EL

A wonderful run with Helen and DeLaney. My first run ever with Helen, she is a lovely person and great company. :)

Peter Ot's 10K Challenges

Peter Ott's 10K in Camdem June 6 is looking for people who want to have FUN. We are hosting a Golden Sneaker Challenge for running clubs putting together a team, a Healthy Living Challenge for health clubs, businesses, hospitals/drs offices and familes putting together a team and a Restaurant Challenge for restaurants fielding a team. These are fun challenges that can acomadate up to 12 members per team. The first four to finish get their score added up based on their place of finish, then for each additional member who finishes, we subtract a point. The teams with the lowest score win the challenge. The more on your team, the better your score may be; let's get moving!

We are also challenging males to try and run a sub 33 and females to try to run a sub 37:33. Hope all these challenges motivate everyone to come out and play.

FMI: Contact paula@rockcoastrunners.com and I'll email you the info sheet.
