What's your run?
+ 67 min ride.
We ran from our house into the Hi-O Trail and back. This means we had to run up the steep side of Long Hill. We went up and over, and made Juddy proud. :)
I am not allowed to do a workout yet, but DeLaney and I plan to come to the track for some easy laps and socializing!
my kitty cat decided to caterwaul last night so any hope for a track workout was hopeless let alone a good night sleep. Always get jinxed when I call a track workout ahead of time!
45 on the arc, 30 on the recumbent, .5M on the treadmill. Hip still bothering a bit. Gonna try going for a short bike ride after work (my first in many years).
Similar route, different purposes the past two days. Yesterday was an easy jog in the heat. Today was an MP run in the surprisingly cool fog. 1.25 warmup, 3 miles in 20:04, 1.25 warmdown. It was still too zippy, given how hilly the route is, but close enough. Now it's a life of leisure and decadence until Sunday.
The VCM forecast, alas, is becoming pretty bad. Now it's sunny, high 50s for a low and mid 80s for a high. I'll just have to run fast enough to get as much ground covered while it's still reasonably cool as I can I guess.
43:34. Off to CO tomorrow for Bolder Boulder (10K) on Monday. Should be great good fun. No idea what kinda time to expect, but planning to enjoy the spectacle and the vibe of thousands of runners. Actually have a lot of friends and family running this year, too (some for the first time). I can't wait!
what altitude? enjoy the run
Enjoyed a social run with Ms. D. Mary, Dr. Dave, Shannon, Maggie, Adria, Zoe, and DeLaney were there as well! :)
...with Shannon on the edges of Dorr and Champlain.
She'd negotiated for a 90 minute run, but my knee acted up again at the end which slowed us down. Even though I blew the guiding contract, Shannon still gave me a big clump of fresh rhubarb and a genuine Kirby pizza platter.
Sorry to miss the track workout, Shannon. Oh, and Minka and Parris Hammond say "Thanks!" They'll leave you a more detailed note later.
you gained stuff for one of my missions ( like Jason did on Monday) and all they had to do Michelle was be in the right place at the right time!!! that was a big patch of( millionaire ) rhubarb i found today!!!!!
I like totally got the realization that everything of value that gets passed around in this community is all part of the great web of Kirby.
...And also that when you're out running on the roads and you see one of those white pickups with the amber lights, it really is a manifestation of the great protective spirit keeping us safe and at the proper voltage.
Bike ride was total failure... unfortunately I'm just not ready for that yet.
It's ok.....it will come. You are doing fabulously!!!
I love trails in any shape and form, and the run Brian took me on today is my new favorite. Until, of course, we go on a new trail run. I hope it's soon!
And Mary rounded out the day for me by doing a ladder set at the track. 400.800.1200.1200.800.400, trying to go down the ladder faster than we went up. I was pretty shot, but enjoyed it anyway. The second 800 and 1200 were slower, but not shamefully so. I'll see what I can pull off next week. Good to see the crew there; I never knew how much fun going around in circles with friends could be until I became addicted to this midweek track workout. : )
I wasn't really up for speedwork this evening, but was totally down for some great company. My Garmin ran out of juice,so I'm guessing on my mileage. It was a pleasure to catch up w/ Suzanne for 3.25ish running around in circles, I've really missed running with her. I got in 2 more laps on my own. Then I joined Shannon and the girls for a little cooldown jaunt in the woods.
I've been wanting to take Jim's dog out for a run, and today I picked up one of those leashes that go around your waist. So on the way home, I took Oy out for a little 1mi test run. We had fun, and he behaved really well for me. We'll go for 2 next time :)
Ah, the power of Kirby... now not just fueled by Swedish fish and Mt. Dew, but pizza and rhubarb too ;)
Jason, You're doing great, you may not be ready for the bike "yet" but when you are you'll have all the more reason to celebrate.
Life is good in the woods... when can we expect Bob, Vanessa, and Frank to arrive?
doulble cheese hold the veggies!!!! rhubarb no !!!! i am only good and finding patches of the stuff not eating it and the pizza pans started out as Michelle's but she was so consumed by her new collestion of Ginso knives ( endorced by Lorena Bobbit) she forgot to grab them ! i can tell you I was worried the whole ride home on Sunday she was either going to cut me or herself !!!!
