What's your run?

Wet, times three

The first time from sweat, EL run in the humidity with Mark, Shannon, and Doug.
The second time from rain, riding around El twice and WH w/PH.
The third: a hot shower.

Not sure which was the most pleasant of the three. Nice morning. Also spotted - Karen, Megan, and Lisa were at the group run; I was there early and saw Dr. Dave out; Peter Keeney and I crossed paths on my ride.

Happy Birthday to....

Anna Perna and Gregory Politi!!!

Cobscook 10k

Good times up at Cobscook yesterday despite the cold and rain.

This was my longest run since Sugarloaf :) and I felt really good and strong at the the end. I think I got about a 3min PR from last year, though last year I also had an emergency break in the woods, so I was probably right around the same pace. The rain was constant, and a couple times I think it was raining sideways. I need to remember that I always feel crappy the first 2mi, after the 5k mark I was feeling great, and having fun.

My support crew of Jim and RJ got lost somewhere between getting coffee at the race start, and Eastport. It was windy and rainy, and I was cold with no dry clothes or my towel at the finish line. Thanks to the kindness of PeterL from sub5, I stayed an little warmer with a borrowed fleece and a warm vehicle until they arrived... probably 45min after I finished. That reversing falls park can be hard to find, I know. Last year when I did this race it was hot and sunny.

I believe the overall winners were James Peckingham and Elizabeth Brunton. Michele Roy won my AG, and Robin and Mary Alice won theirs as well. Despite the weather, there was a decent turnout, yummy post race food, and the good feeling you get for helping support a worthy cause like DownEast Hospice.

Ms D. Two years ago, I got lo

Ms D. Two years ago, I got lost. Took a wrong turn and the kid manning the corner let me go. After the second or third "unmanned" intersection, I realized that I was lost in this network of dirt roads. Got rescued by a passing van of 4 people heavily under the influence of many things. I sat on their beer cooler next to this dog while they drove me to the finish line. The van was filled with smoke. I was slightly outside my comfort zone. It was quite an experience. I have not been back since.

uummm

your crew must have taken notes from Michelle @ last years race!!!

did they meet the beer drinking pick/up driving goobers that gave Michelle a ride back to the race rt., Earl and his other brother Earl

Welcome to Eden!

Please join me in welcoming John, Patricia, and Melanie Craig to the roster!

Peter Ott's 10-k

Went to Camden to run this race for the very first time today. I got to have Tom all to myself on the ride there and back since Michele bailed on us! :)

I LOVED this course! Rolling hills and oh so scenic. I will be back next year.

I pushed DeLaney and it is getting a lot harder for me. I think my time was about 56 flat. We put together an Eden team with Tom, Spotter, Peter B, and myself. Probably would have won had I not been such a heavy anchor!

Thank you, Paula, for a great race. I ran today purely for fun, and fun is what I had!

Camden

What? We didn't win? That is crushing news!
Fun fun day today. Sticky.
I ran 44:25 which was a 8 sec. faster than in Orrington which was flat so I'm happy.
Thanks Suzanne for taking my shirt (why isn't it a jersey like in cycling?) so I wouldn't melt. I think I was the only guy in tights.
Sad that Michele did not attend. A little bird tells me she is overtrained.

My home boy Andy "El Spauldo" Spaulding crushed the field. It is an honor to be spanked by a classy guy like Andy. If you ever have a chance to talk to Andy about running or anything else, do so. He is currently president of Maine Businesses for Sustainability (formerly MEBSR) I believe he achieved the Peter Ott's 33 Challenge.

camden

ran 46:29 felt good
and the 5 hr energy did not wear off until around 10 pm so i got a lot done and really did not notice the rain .

Our 2nd place position...

...has not been confirmed! There's still hope! haha!
