What's your run?
frequency run.
ride: 1:14
what is a frequency run? I'm trying to run more frequent.
is a short run that gets a couple of miles in but has a very low recovery cost. My legs are all achy and in need of a light day, and two miles sufficed.
Another great group run. Did the AB/8 bridges route with Mark, Kevin, Doug, Ron, & Bob C. Got to see Becky, Ginger, Mark Miller visiting from Virginia, Karen, Lisa, Beth & I'm sure I've missed someone. I stopped after 8, Mark & Kevin were moving on for more fun about Witches Hole. God bless good company and great running weather. Life is good in the woods.
Climbed Schoodic Mtn for the first time. Anyone have any good mountain hike suggestions (in Hancock County)? I'm going to try and do a mountain per week through the end of August.
I needed 12 miles was willing to settled for 11 miles and got in close to 13 miles. Started with the girls and split up after 4 miles, and headed towards Bubble. Eliott did a great job on his bike. Went to sand beach after.
I looked at the 1/2 tri training plan for next week and was somewhat surprised and disappointed at how much I still need to do for this first week of taper. It even calls for a 2h30 bike and a 1h30 bike w/ 2X16 min at threshold. Oh mon dieu! I am resigned to seeing this through - actually it is unlikely that I would consider any other options. I will just put my head down and do it.
Great job Jason. I think that you would like the hike Eliott and I did yesterday.
No run, no bike, not a single pushup or crunch. At least my house is clean. My hip hurts just walking around the house now, so I imagine a call to my doctor is in order.
4.25 yesterday, WHP w/paradise hill. Today, a loop around EL. Both runs were with Oy, who was great company and managed to not get too distracted by squirrels.
I've had a tough time being motivated to run lately. Maybe I'll catch a group run next weekend. Looking forward to the track on Wednesday.
Hope the hip is okay, Suzanne.
I'm new to posting here but have been reading and finding inspiration on the board for some time, so it seemed like a good time to jump into the fray. I live in Salsbury Cove and started running consistently for the first time last fall. After a somewhat lazy winter with regards to running (and as little time as possible on the torture mill) I set a goal of doing a race every month this year. Did the Flattop in March, Kaufman in April, the Pineland Farms Barefoot 5k in May and the YMCA 10k earlier this month. (I was the dude with the jog stroller). I'm loving it! Tenatively working towards running the marathon this year. Did very little today- walked out to Compass Harbor with my wife and toddler, good times. Yesterday ran my longest distance thus far, 11.3 (8ish pace) from the visitor center down around EL and back home by 7am. I put a sizable dent in the deer fly population near Witch Hole. They certainly helped the pace of my last few miles.
Mike. Welcome. I see several close parallels w/me in there. We should run together sometime. I live in what I call Hullsbury Cove. Maybe coffee at Udder Heaven some morning?
Welcome to the eden board. Were you the guy running with the funny toe shoes a the MDI Y 10K? I think you passed me on the super steep hill before the cemetery.
:)
Coffee is always a good thing! That was me! I'm one of those crazy barefoot/minimalist shoe runners. Makes things more interesting.
... Mikey likes it!
I - allow me to introduce myself - am one of the forum wits.
Nothing for me today; I indulged my hidden lazy streak.
