Have a safe and happy 4th of July, Eden!
Happy Birthday to Rick Hirte!
What's your run?
Happy 4th of July! About 100 came to run. I held the lead for the first 1/2 mile from the start. Too many foot falls I could hear behind me and knowing there were two hills ahead, I fell back. Passed 1 after the first hill, passed another after the second. Finished 5th place overall with an unofficial time around 19:54. No mile markers - no t-shirts and didn't stay for the awards.
Pleasant out for a race at 8:00. Easily could have gone to Bangor for the double, but I'm just a bit beat up after the past 2 days! Nice to see the Harold and Andrea Hatch, David Jones and David Smith.
Good luck to those running Walter Hunt. Hope it's not too hot. Have a happy 4th of July everyone!
Amanda Dyer's house this Wed. at 7pm! Hope to see some of you there. Thanks for your hospitality, Amanda:)
6 miles with Karen, many others out there too!
Last week...30 mile ride and lot's of Zumba and strength training. Less than 20 miles of running a week now. I like the variety a lot! Hoping for a nice long ride tomorrow, we will see how I hold up.
Looking forward to Suzanne's race next weekend.
this morning. Rest yesterday.
Had a great 11 mile tour with Bob C, who was very patient riding slow while I trotted along with scenic stops for the Eagle, Jordan, & Bubble Pond overlooks. Good to meet Anita and see Becky, Karen, Ginger, & Lisa. Clearly I need to run a little faster as I understand I just missed some Zumba footwork at the parking lot. Life is good in the woods.
36 miles. Hot. Tired. Nuff said. Time for a paddle.
According to Garmin, it was 13.66 miles in 1:33:52. Oof. 14 total for the day, including "warmup" (pretty superfluous on a day like this).
Hiked Black Mountain this morning, so I can cross another mountain off the list.
I also set a weekly weight loss record this week by losing 6.6lbs since last Sunday. My previous best was 5.2lbs.
Late morning on Bayview, Hot! Back at work for the Festivities this evening in Bar Harbor. This town is packed.
I seem to be late in my marathon planning. My first choice is full and MDI is full. Maine Marathon is not full. There are also 2 Marathons in NH, 2 in MA, 1 in VT, and one in RI in October, hmmmmm, I'm going to have to make a decision and pony up some cash soon.
Just started thinking "marathon" last week, but not much room anywhere for the fall. I'm looking at the Mountain Epic trail race series in Newry, in October. The races end in a huge mud pit, and awards are given for the best and most aerobatic entry into said pit. Sounds like fun!
Eagle Lake, Aunt Betty, Jordan Pond, Bubble Pond and back with a little road out-and-back to complete the half distance. My longest run to date! I was shooting for 8:00 pace and got exactly that. Beautiful buck near Bubble Pond, snowshoe hares galore and deerflies- my personal favorite. :0p Back home by 7:15 this morning, so I beat the heat.
Wanted more, but had to take an unexpected trip to the Emergency Vet Clinic in Brewer. Every single thing seems to be working against me these days.
