Good run in the not-yet rain this morning. : ) I like the course; you're paying attention to the rise or the fall of the road and the miles just zip by. Happy to see a decent crowd there; nice race Suzanne!
And congrats to the mile fun-run runners. They ran every single step, pretty dang quickly at that!
Nice job Suzanne and crew at the race today! Conditions were, shall we say, a tad humid. I was very happy to run a sub-seven pace for the first time ever, so it was a real milestone for this newb. I was driven along by the sound of Shannon and Tom K's footsteps behind me.
went and got a pair of the 5 fingers and injun socks and like how they feel and it was a fun race Suzanne great job that type of race (point to point are a lot more work)
I offer this advice, welcome or not, to anyone starting out in VFFs. Go very easy! A mile at first in them, max. Your calves will feel it! I've heard of quite a few people doing too much, too soon who weren't accustomed to a forefoot landing and end up with metatarsal stress fractures....
I love errand day.
bike: 1h40 run: 8 mi 59:04
Nice warm rain.
Nice job Suzanne and thanks to all the volunteers!
It was nice to have cool clouds, but at the same time it was so humid I had trouble breathing at the top of the hill at 2 miles. Too much water and not enough oxygen in the air I guess. Still, while I struggled to get into race mode, I ran hard. I have now run this course 3 times, and the time spread is a total of 11 seconds--maybe consistency counts for something.
Fun race today, those of us who took a bit longer to run it got some rain in the last mile or so too. The course was hillier than I remember, which kept it interesting. I told myself that I would be happy w/ any finish under 40min, and I did it in 39:32, so I can't complain :)
Thanks, Suzanne for putting on a great race!! I got to catch up w/ Frank for the first time this year, and it was great to have him cheering us on the course. And, of course, wonderful to see so many Eden folks out there!
Back from Geneva. I had a great time, volunteering is a ton of fun, and I see more of it in my future. It's really great when the people riding by are thanking us for the support.
I'll let Michele tell her story as it is her's to tell, but it isn't pretty and it was a pretty rough day overall. When I think of everything she has put into this race over the past three months it breaks my heart.
