Life is Good, right bob?

Congrats to Mary D for a nice tri performance. What is the qualification for and does it mean that you will be training until November? I hope we will get a race report and more information.

Congrats to Tim Tunney who managed a 5h31ish in Geneva although his time shows 5h35ish (he got a penalty, I think for drafting).

Biking is like skiing (downhill that is) for me and I really like it. It is freedom; it is speed; it is the feeling of the wind in your face and the buzz in your ears; your hot, your cold; you adjust your speed and lines for the terrain and you dodge things and sometime, well, you just don't! Bang!!! (big LOL)

Big thank you for all the support and kind words. My husband has provided me info on a bunch of upcoming 1/2 tris. FYI, if I do sign up I can assure all of you that it will NOT be for a race in the State of NY. Maybe Canada would be nice.

As BB says, life is good in the woods!!!

penalty

Shame on you, Tim.

But

it was such a quick drive and lovely area with lots to do......

drafting

Oh, I cannot wait to harass Tunney about that!!
When are we riding Michele?

hopefully soon

hopefully soon

I hate to disappoint

But this kid was not penalized for drafting. Penalty 5.4--Traffic Laws. Must have been speeding.

Visualization training is not sufficient to complete a 1/2 Ironman feeling strong. I'll probably get after this event (or one like it) again...I'm confident I can get to sub 5.

Shelly, so glad that you are ok. And so sorry I missed show and tell at the bank.

violation 5.4

hey I could give you a repeat . . . or not. I think you cannot ride outside the shoulder unless passing or avoiding a bad area.

Qualification at a 70.3 IM ra

Qualification at a 70.3 IM race means a slot at the championship race in Clearwater FL in November. This is a really fun fast race (I did in 2006) which I hope is not affected by the oil in the gulf. Triathletes from all over the world come to florida for this race so it has a vibe similar to the Kona Hawaii Ironman.
Too cool for Mary!

WOW . . . so so so cool.

WOW . . . so so so cool.

Happy Birthday to.....

Virve Hirsnaki and Donna Smith!

7 miles

54:16 after 1:15 cycling. Hip abduction and extension exercises on weight machines.

Later

I plan to do 4ish after work. Hope to see folks at the track tomorrow.

Congrats to Mary D and Tim T!!!!

45 on the Arc Trainer and 30

45 on the Arc Trainer and 30 on the recumbent and a lovely ride down the interstate to Waterville and back. Hoping for a relatively uneventful afternoon.

6ish at 8:30 - "A" run

ran the East side of Eagle and out along Bubble Pond and back with Helen in the clouds. The visibility wasn't much, but the company was good, the cool breeze felt excellent, and my leg was pain free on the flat six. Life is good in the woods.

Got to see Ginger, Becky, and meet Jeanie.

Congratulations Mary & Tim. Now to find the details.

Bayview. Nice attitude Michelle! Jump right back on that tri bike:)

6.5M

nice easy run in Castine. Really makes a difference not having the sun beat down. I get to ride on a boat to work tomorrow (Belfast to Castine). I think I'm the second mate. Takes about 20 minutes at 20 knots (it's 40 minutes from Stockton by auto) to get across the bay. It's my first trip across so I'm pretty excited.

Patience

....though I am chomping at the bit to hit the road/trail again. Still hobbling around. Pulled out the old, neglected mountain bike this evening and did a few quick laps without bothering the toe too much, so that may be my ticket for now (after a tuning and some WD-40).

Cycling

is working well enough for me too. It is not and never will be running but it is also much better than nothing on so many levels. 233 miles last week without running.

When you get your bike fixed up we should go for a spin together. We can extend that invitation to any other Edenites with a smashed up left pinkie toe.

toes and other run-ins

Yup

Too true....

bike tune

Mike, bring the bike by sometime. I have tools and workstand. 266-6006, call or text.

Eagle Lake

in the afternoon. 42:18.

Its official. My first marathon will be Cape Cod at the end of Oct. I registered today, so now I'm officially training.

yeh Kevin

enjoy the challenge

10 miles bike...

...in the living room at 9:30 pm.

Great news, Kevin! Can't wait to follow your training!
