Cliffs' Notes word of the week: portmanteau (pôrt man' tō)

A traveling case or bag, especially a stiff leather suitcase that opens like a book into two compartments.

As he reached the foot of the slope, an elderly horseman, with his portmanteau strapped behind him, stopped his horse when Adam had passed him, and turned round to have another long look at the stalwart workman …

From George Eliot's Adam Bede.

Times 1:23:19, walk, 53:33, 1:04:08. I haven't had much time to train lately. Anna's virbant shoes look - er - nice.

Vibram

not vibrant. Although they are kinda vibrantly colored if you look at them that way.

I know what they're called

I was playing with words... where's our annalyie wavelength today?

Today

WHP loop with Judy before work. It was a good run, though about halfway through the humidity hit us like a brick wall. Still managed a decent pace though.

Hope to see folks at the track tomorrow!

"A" Run around EL in 45:38 with a kiss break when I found Vanessa on the East side. Got to see Brian biking & Vanessa saw Nora. Cross Country is back in action. Looks like I need to break out the Glide before running with my new singlet again. I never thought I'd end up with a bleeding nipple on a 6 miler. Live and learn. Life is good in the woods.

Blue Hill 5K

WHP early

Just me and and some hungry deer flies this morning. Oh, and I passed the grader on the uphill just before Paradise Hill. Fun, but somehow not quite as much fun as passing a bike.

8-ish

Did Aunt Betty and east side of EL. I ran into Terry at the sign post at Eagle Lake and ran the second half MUCH faster than I intended. I definitely would not have pushed that hard on my own, and it ended up being a great run.
