"A" run replete with carriages

Excellent EL loop that felt good at 46:44. I thought I had my first bike pass of the year, but then figured out the two bikes were escorting a runner so I do not think they count. I still get excited when I see carriages and there were three of them this morning. Happy Birthday Jeff! Life is good in the woods.

Carriages

I often pass these on my evening runs in the Day Mountain vicinity.

It was years and years ago now - I had not run at all for three months, with the exception of the NEH 5 miler which was an error in judgement. So it was my first run since June; I made it to that long, eastward facing stretch almost at the top - and there I threw up. When I looked up, it was to find four carriages stuffed with sunset watchers lumbering past, all staring at me with their cameras out.

That is the worst thing that has ever happened to me in running or athletics of any sort and the carriages have seemed like birds of ill omen ever since.

But hey - life IS at its best in the woods!
