What's your run?

9.25

70 minutes.

Beech Hill laps

53 min. cycling

Excellent EL

with Helen. Beautiful, cool morning & good company. Ahh, life is good. Vanessa enjoyed her run with Beth Bradshaw too.

i enjoyed my run too

ran 6 alone around Leoanard lake. Had a great time

you mean

like by the John Deer bridge i stuck my head out the window and told you to put your clothes back on!!!! was that the great time

65 30 20

65 on the arc trainer, 30 doing C25k W3D3 and 20 on the recumbent bike. Today was my first run outside and I didn't get eaten by bears or anything like that. Seriously though, this was a fairly big mental hurdle for me and Michele wasn't there to hold my hand which was also a pretty big step for me.

very nice progression

especially that a while back we went to the track and you kinda flipped out . . . remember the big bad wolves were there.

I'm not sure I'd calling "Flipping out", maybe I'd call it a panic attack or hyperventilating or whatever... I just didn't like being around all those 8th graders or the weird maintenance guy staring at the fat guy (me) running. Anyway, those days are behind me now, watch out world, here I come.

bike tomorrow? swim echo lake -

nice swim this morning with Maddy, Ron and Anne. 1 hr, across and back than then down to bluffs and back.

I want to bike 50 miles tomorrow...would love company. Early morning start would be best, but I'm flexible if it means company. Nice loop starting in BHB would be great.

Judy, i would love to bike but I can only do Sunday

I'm interested

but worried that I'd slow you down a bit. I had been thinking 30 miles or so for tomorrow, so 50 would be a stretch. I was headed out in early a.m. Let me know where you're headed and what time.

By the way, this is Melissa not Kevin. I'm just using his login since I can't remember mine.

bike

Melissa, hope to catch you. phone doesn't seem to work. Leave a message how to reach you. I would like to meet up and ride tomorrow, whatever distance.

At twilight. Felt much better.

Eagle Lake

Slow today. My goal was to just "run" slow, slow, slow and steady. I was actually a little sore after the fast run yesterday, so I mostly wanted to get the legs moving a bit.

However, I did have to put on the speed when the bike tour went by me. Just as I came down the hill to the sign-post for the split to Bubble/Jordan, a bike tour with about 15 teenagers went by me. I caught up with them at the little hill on the east side of the lake, and ran hard to pass. I passed the whole group near the top of the hill and stayed out in front of them for probably just under 1/4 mile or so. Very proud moment for me! Almost as good as yesterday's ELPR. Not quite, but almost...

(By the way, this is Kevin posting this time)

Shoes

Does anyone know of any store around that will fit me for running shoes? I've been using the Asics Nimbus 11 but my foot is still bothering, wondering if there might be a better match for me.

Peter Beckett....

....at Cadillac Mountain Sports is THE guy! Ok, maybe he isn't the shoe guy anymore...but he will point you towards the best if he cannot help. Peter is awesome. My favorite. :)

PS- The right shoe can make ALL the difference!

You might also look at

different ways to lace them. Ask Tom K.

The only reason I am up this late, by the way, is a camper overnight - two got scared and wanted to go home and just fell asleep on my office couch while waiting for their parents. We had a good evening: swimming and s'mores!

Jason

@ the track the main. people all look @ everyone as weird
what size are you i know where there are 150 pairs of size 11's
my new best pairs are Newtons but the nearest place is Portland that carries them
the Maine running store has a treadmill that they do gait photos to help match /fit
you could go there after you cycle me into the start @ Beach 2 Beacon so i don't have to ride the cattle bus shuttle

I think I'm going to go to the Maine Running Store and have the gait analysis done. Not sure I want to be there at 7:30 in the morning though...

BUT if Peter thinks he can help me out maybe I'll go support the local store.
