What's your run?

Fun 14

Tri-Lakes figure 8 with Ron, Michele, Derrick, & Kevin. The last 3 names mentioned are in the overachiever category, running EL before I joined in. Two deer & one snake sighted along the way, but Michele was still the wildest life - especially when she saw that wnake. Back posting now: 7 Bridges stroll Sat with Vanessa & an excellent EL loop on Friday as a tempo run with a faster finish. Life is good in the woods.

the snake

Bob, I am sticking to my version of the snake story . . . I was attacked by a vicious snake hence the need for the terrifying scream. I am lucky to still be alive.

Fall

marathons for the "overachievers" ?

In order to conquer my fears

In order to conquer my fears I am considering the snakehead marathon in texas in October.

a snakehead

is a fish. Just sayin'...

now you're telling me . . . t

now you're telling me . . . then I guess I am heading to some fishing derby

Derby

Speaking of, There's an ultra in November that I'm considering, in Derby NC. Apparently the meal after is AMAZING, including a bunch of pies made by little old church ladies. They say the meal alone is worth running 31 miles for!

The Snake

I was there. I witnessed the entire episode. I am quite certain that the snake looked right at Michele, probably thinking about eating her (but who can say what is on the mind of a snake?) The terrifying scream was probably all that saved her from certain death-by-reptile. The snake, by the way, was maybe 15 inches long.

I'm glad...

that you didn't become another statistic out there, Michele. Amazing run! I must've just missed y'all, as I headed back thru the EL parking area a bit before 7 on my return trip to the VC.

9 mi

69:05.

60 min yoga.

8.2

Walking EL loop and up to the first Witch Hole intersection and back. Managed to shave 20 min off the last time I did the EL loop (May 23). It was nice to meet the above mentioned runners... twice. I can't wait to be fast.

11.6 VC, Witch Hole and EL

Legs felt a bit tired this morning so I took it easy. 8:30 pace.

Excellent long run

As noted by Bob, there was a Tri-Lakes Figure 8. Bob B., Michelle, Derek (sp?) and Ron in attendance. Before that, an Eagle Lake loop with Michelle, Derek, and Julie. Saw Jason headed the other way, and Becky on the bike. (am I forgetting someone?) Great job out there today, everyone.

Bob is right. Life IS good. But, boy are my legs tired.

dude

I only did 8.2 WALKING and I haven't been walking right all day. You guys are amazing.

Jason

You are doing fantastic. Seriously. And, in my opinion, the amazing thing is not how far or how fast; its being dedicated and challenging yourself. I'd say you are doing that, too. It was great seeing you out there today.

olympic tri: check

great race day, beautiful weather. Ocean swim happened but it wasn't pretty, bike ride great, run ok. 3:17:10.4 This event was very well run, and the Kennebunk volunteers were fantastic. 400 people in the Sprint, 250 in the Olympic. The bike part was mostly shady, very pretty, and fast. I did best there with 17.6 mph average. Funky part: I was tagged in the 60-64 age group under USAT rules. Yikes that was weird. Fun part: because of that, I was 2/2 in my class and got a medal and a engraved pint glass instead of 5/7 in the 55-59 group. ok dokay with me. :) I had fun.
