Monday, August 30: Daily Log

U Maine at Orono starts classes today! First day of second year of grad school for me.
Do island schools start today? Ellsworth?

7 before 6

52:37 + hip exercises. Run was practically even split (10 sec off) which is rare for me - I usually need a couple 8-9 min miles to warm up and wind up with a supremely negative split.

The Edenometer

wants your miles.

You can make cool colors - mine are Gryffindor of course. Next year I propose going back to the ALYIE TALLY.

Does the Edenometer...

accept miles from non-official Edenites? Or does it spit them back out?

Acceptable and encouraged

if you get Judy your email address, she can help you - she has the access to give people "spreadsheet sharing."

OK

I have "requested access to the spreadsheet" through Google. My email address (I hope Judy reads this!) is katahdin5271@hotmail.com.

MikeUp Miles!

Goody. Feel free to deposit your miles to date this year - if you keep track - in a "lump sum" on one of the days.

Good times

Sounds like there was some good times in the woods and by the water this weekend with some excellent runs and races :) I bailed on the NEH race Saturday, but was there to do some cheering at the finish line.

I got in a short hike on Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday. Sunday evening I practiced my batgirl skills by doing the last 3 miles of my long run in the dark. Got a late start, oops! 10mi, out and back to the WHP signpost followed by seven bridges. This was actually my first time ever running up 7 bridges, and it wasn't nearly as difficult as I had made it out to be in my mind. I had fun playing tag with an owl. Sorry, no mail for Alyie.

No run for me today, maybe a short hike or a swim after work. I plan to run after work tomorrow.

Great job at the tri, Judy!!!!!

Nada Again

MDI and Ellsworth start school on 9/7.

Nothing for me today. Still very sore from yesterday. Looks like I'll be running back-to-back tues/weds.

Rien pour moi aussi . . . ex

Rien pour moi aussi . . . except some streching and core work.

Sometimes

if you're sore, a short and light workout can help. Bike or swim or water-walk maybe.
Just a suggestion and you know your body better than anyone else. I too am impressed by your walk yesterday, by the way.

I don't know

about my body, but my brain is pretty unhappy about not working out today. I'm feeling much better this afternoon, I'm trying to limit my chair time and make sure I get up and about as much as I can today.

2500 scy

the cold pool was a good place to be for a bit.

11 miles

Hot. Hip feels better but legs felt dead. Did a bunch of walking. Ouch.
