Jordan Pond House and back.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how to fix a reversed chimney?

As in,

the draft flowing in the wrong direction (filling the room with smoke, for example?) If that's what you mean, I've always fixed it by burning something that goes up fast and hot, like a big pile of loosely-wadded newspaper. Tends to get things moving in the right direction. If that's NOT what you mean, sorry!

Thanks Mike,

That is exactly what I mean.

Most of the online help says "hold a piece of burning newspaper up the chimney." The problem is, it's a closed woodstove with a grate between the stove roof and the outflow.

I'll try your loosely wadded newspaper trick!
