Well, I wasn't going to run but Chris G twisted my arm :-). First time for me for the race and I got fooled and got sucked out too fast going through the first mile in 5:51 with Cassie, Bobby Jordan, and Joe Barter. Settled down after that and let Cassie (who was second overall) and the third place runner disappear ahead. Fully expected to finish fourth, but Bobby came up behind me with about a half mile to go and I used all I had left just to keep him from closing on me and had not enough left to answer when he did in fact go by. Nice smart run by Bobby.

Still, not bad for a casual race with an overly exuberant opening mile. Didn't stop my watch at the end, but I think my time was a bit under 24:40.

Nice group out there today -- with Crow stalwarts Tom Miller, Austin Townsend, Tom K., Becky and new Crow Dale Dickie. And Robin spoke for a moment before the start for Bill Pinkham. Passed out quite a few bumper stickers to compliment JC's recruitment drive.

I'm pretty sure I was the twistee, not the twister, but it doesn't really matter, and I'm glad I ran. My patented DSS* set in just past mile 2, which persisted to the end. Still, I managed to finish in 26:14, only 5 sec off my goal pace of 6:30, and I'm okay with that.

Nice to see so many Crows today (old and new), and congratulations to all!
