What's YOUR run?

Good Luck today, Simon!

...in SF.

Nice job at the races yest. everyone - go Simon!

And if you're reading this Theo. Don't trade Manny.

12 miles , liked my last week run so much....

I did it again today. Mike Bickford ran with me.

You better

Be finished by now if it started at 5:20 out there. Hope things are going well.

13-miles

Big group today. Mostly I ran with EG, Gary, Jeff C., Adam G., Max and Brendon W. Finished up in about 1:20.

8 miles

Around Aunt B, 7B and Eagle with Brian and Alyie (on her cool new bike!). I'm black and blue from my deep tissue massage yesterday, but my hip feels pretty good, so I am very happy. Record turnout today!

Simon, don't keep us in suspense!!

I told ya

After not running for months this winter, Decran had my hip loosened up and I was running the same day. Hurts like all hell, but it's worth it to run again.

16

Was thinking of doing (3)x Eagle Lake but got diverted instead into (2)x Aunt Betty, 7B, and east side of Eagle. First lap with Chris and Alyie, 2nd on my own. 58:13, 55:29.

Another nice big group today. Fine day for it too. If I'd realized that we were making that important first impression on Alyie's mom, I definitely would have had my shave and haircut first. But, notwithstanding my unkemptness, she let the Crows have Alyie to ourselves for several hours -- a good basis for future trust, I hope.

15 Aunt Betty/Giant Slide

Stayed in touch with the pack for about 10 seconds, then settled in with Amy and her husband Bill, then was left to my own with a peleton of deer flies trailing me. Burned extra calories by flailing them with a tshirt.

After I got back to my jeep and thought I was all done, I realized that Aunt Betty and Giant Slide in a figure 8 is only 14 miles, So I dutifully added another mile to be compliant with my self-imposed schedule. What a great course for a beautiful summer day in Maine!

Nice to see you all and to meet you Alyie -- 'hope your Mom approved of us!

re: my mom

I think she was a little disoriented, but she's not used to seeing so many runners (usually all they have to deal with is me!) and she hadn't had the required three cups of coffee yet. I don't think you guys scared her away...

MDI Marathon Route M9-M20

did something feel strange on the island today? probably because a Bangor Yahoo was running around there...

ran the marathon route this morning from Mile 9 (around Little Long Pond) to Mile 20 (Somesville Public Library). I've been pecking away at it from time to time over the past few months. I would like to run it a few times before the almighty date arrives in October.

appears that mile markers have washed away for Mile 13, 14, 15,
16 and 17. I did see 10, 11, 12, 18, 30K, 19 and 20. I think I ran it right on Sargeant Drive - up past the right of the NE Library and pass the Tennis Courts...

Sarah spent time painting the 15.5 mile tree before she picked me up in Somesville. Nice day to be on the Island and back on the course. After B2B - I'll have that Marathon game face on.

mile markers

Gary could confirm, but you may have missed 13, 14, 15, and 16 because they're on the right side of the road following the course's tangents along Sargent Drive. 17 is on the left though, just north of the transfer station but before the NEH five-mile starting line.

It's pretty sure that Gary will freshen them all up this fall.

biking

while Chris and Brian ran.
So nice to see everyone!!!

Mile markers

They are all there, I Saw them all just the other day. 20-k is in the middle of the road. 13 is on the right side of the road, 13.1 is on the left. 14 is on the right, as well as 15. 25-k is in the middle of the road. 16 I believe is in the middle of the road. Pretty sure on all of those.

Hey JC or Brian - Confirm NE Harbor Route

Can either of you double check the route for me - The only mention is last years 3rd annual supplement on the MDI Islander and the MDI Brochure...and they're not very specific.

When you run into NE Harbor - take a right towards the library. At the Library there is a Y - I took the right - is the course the left? (Joy Drive) I think the left loops around back to Sargent Drive - I saw many other mile markers from the NE 5 Miler at that corner - after I ran through.

There is another Y in the road near the new condo place and I again took the right that cuts by the Tennis Courts...

I did see the another little turn off - the one near the MDI High School enterance - that looks like a nice hill too!
