Great Job kids

what a fast bunch. Good to see so many out there. I think Becky said this was the biggest kids group ever.

Lots of Crows in Winter Harbor. Weather was about as nice as you could get in August, and Steve brought the special brew for afterwards which is always a treat.

I just missed that 15 minute mark again, but still a 4 second pr. So I'll take it.

Brendon and I ran the first mile in 4:43 shoulder to shoulder, Everyone else was gone, then I hung on to Brendon for another 1/2 mile before he edged away and other than the turnaround i saw his back the rest of the way. I ran a 4:55 second mile and another 4:55 for my last one. I knew 15-minutes was going to be close when I got to the 1/2 mile to go mark in 12:30 and busted my ass all the way in, but it's slightly uphill and that 15-minute mark just wants to play games with me a little longer.

Is Crow Athletics The Real Deal or what.

Look at all the Crows!

It'd be nice if Evan would put forth a little more effort though. He always sluffs off when he goes north for the winter.

Day started off well -- a good downpour to cool things off and then clearing. Nora brought her two friends, Isabel and Olivia, who were overnighting from Bar Harbor. And, in an excellent token, Nora got to wear Stephen Kirby's original Crow singlet which Stephen has finally outgrown after using it to win pretty much every fun run there is the past two seasons.

So, in the 5K, the race record from last year (ask JC) wentdown in a big way with Brendan running this year's first sub-15:00 5K by a Mainer in Maine (that I know of, anyway). The two O'Keefes, JC, Adam Goode, Downeast's own "Bob Greaser", Eric Rudolph, and Cassie all made for a pretty fast front field. In contrast, I was left after them with my only company being a fine mist of shoe-kicked road spray and after clearing a few overeager starters, I ran pretty much alone, finishing feeling strong but still 10 seconds slower than two weeks ago at Milbridge. But, given the marathon six days ago, I thought that was entirely satisfactory -- given that nothing hurt and generally everything went smoothly. As far as I can tell my pace was dead even 5:51s.

Congrats to both JC and Christine for their fresh PRs. Great to see so many Crows and crowlings out there today. I think everyone had a pretty good day.

congrats, everyone!

awesome pictures, too!
