6 at 6's, and MDI marathon course runs, Towny runs

Just a reminder that 6 at 6's are still going on every weekday at Eagle Lake.

Hope to see some of you in the AM.

Another reminder. 6pm on Saturday nights there will be a run on the MDI marathon course. We did this last year and it really helped me learn the course and we had some pretty big crowds show up. This year I'm switching the run to the evening mainly because there are just to many races Saturday mornings to compete with, but with the 6at 6 runs going on the weekdays you have no excuse on race day that you can't run well because it's to early.

This Saturday they will start, well at the starting line in Downtown Bar Harbor, what better place. We will run out to 10-k mark in Otter Creek. There I will have a vehicle to bring people back to town, and I'll make multiple trips if need be. Water and snacks will also be at the finish. The goal of these runs is to run them at about your goal marathon pace, thus making you feel comfortable when the race happens(who knew). As we get closer towards Sept. these runs will get a little longer, but no loger than 10-miles. Another one of the goals is to actually run on all parts of the course. So if you show up to all or most of the runs, you'll get a good tour of the course.

See you all this Saturday evening at 6PM

A new run, and in my mind just another option and chance to come join the fun is going to be going on Tuesdays. We'll meet in a different local town each Tuesday, and run from there. These are more like field trips than a regular run. Some weeks we will take the ferry out to Swans Island, other weeks we'll go to somesville. These will start next Tuesday. The first one in the scenic town of Northeast Harbor at Noon. Meeting place to be announced. Afterwards we'll hit one of the local deli's for some bearclaws and a sandwich.

I love that idea Judson!

I'm psyched about the Sat. evening marathon runs. I'm just going to get Sat.'s off permanently from work. If you need help with snacks or drivers let me know. I'm probably going to screw it all up because I'm the slowest one, you guys will be drinking your happy drinks and I'll still be on mile 4:) Hopefully there will be slower runners to run with. I'm finally feeling better, can't wait to go to the track tonight!

idea

No worries. We'll all be finishing at different times since I highly doubt to many of us have the same marathon goal pace. One thing that some people did last year was start 5-10 minutes early. It's not a big deal to me, I'll wait for anyone and make sure to save plenty of snacks and drinks.

You want slow, here I come

I can't make it this weekend, my son is getting married. Even I have some priorities. Hope to make it after that. Great idea.

Towny run #1

Northeast Harbor at 11:30 AM, Tuesday Aug. 23rd. Meet in front of the old firehouse where the 5-miler finishes. It's right in downtown Northeast. From there we'll go on a nice little run around the town before hitting the local bakery for some snacks. Total run is about 5-6 miles, more or less depending on what people want to do.

Next week we will head out to Great Cranberry island and run a nice lap of the island. Ferry details to come...
