Mike and Rolf Westphal of Cranberry Island took top honors in the third annual Otter Creek Creep run last Saturday. Mike, in winning the event for the second time, posted a time of 33:20. Rolf was second in 34:25. Dave Renault of Northeast Harbor finished third in 35:15 and was the first male in the 30-39 age group. Roberta Sharp of Otter Creek was the top woman finisher with a time of 46:07, and Mary Graley finished second in 51:32.

The "Creep" was again run under cloudy skies and rainy conditions. It has yet to be run when the sun is shining. Race directors believe that it is now possible to predict rainy conditions on race day and are considering operating a one-day weather forecasting service.

Prizes, donated by Island merchants, were awarded to all participants. Race director, John Sharp said the famous Otter Creek Creep T-Shirts are still available and may be purchased either at the Blackwoods Rest., or Murrays Market in Otter Creek.

A good time was had by all participants, including "Laddie", a local dog who finished somewhere in the middle of the pack.
