The annual 10k Cadillac Mountain Run will be held on Sunday, May 7th at 8 am in front of the Bar Harbor fire station. We finish at the Cadillac summit. Extra clothing and snacks will be waiting. And limited transportation back to town will be available. Please write it on your calendar.

Last year, 14 runners participated. The weather was perfect and spirits were high (about 1500 feet high). With a suggested voluntary entry donation of $10, we actually raised $160 for the charity of the winner's choice. Last year, that was a local organization: Alstom Syndrome International of Mt. Desert. There was a nice write up in the MDIslander.

The Cadillac 10k began in the early 1990's as a contest between local Police Officers, Firefighters, and Park Rangers. Those groups are still invited along with "civilian" runners. The event has been covered by TV news on at least one occasion and is always a great time. There is a perpetual trophy with a lot of familiar names.

There is no formal registration process, but please contact me if you plan to participate. That will help with planning the refreshments.
