The Sixth Annual Circle of Hope to benefit the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (lustgartenfoundation.org) will be held on September 21, 2006. The Lustgarten Foundation provides resources for pancreatic cancer patients and their families and funds critical research efforts targeted toward the diagnosis and treatment of this particular form of cancer. The event involves a 12 mile run and 38 mile sea kayak journey around Mount Desert Island. The run segment will begin at approximately 5:45 AM from the junction of Routes 198 and 3 in Northeast Harbor. This segment finishes down on the sand bar to Bar Island off of West Street.
