Everyone must be sleeping.

11-miles

11-miles and broke in my new racing flats with some strides.

man

I saw the word break, thought you broke something for a minute.

6 with Karen, hard work today.

I'm a wimp

I didn't feel like dealing with hills today or pushing the jogger, so I ran on the treadmill.

4.1 miles with race pace in the middle.

wimp/not

you are the farthest thing from a wimp. When I had a baby that age I'd get out of breath just walking to the changing table. I think it's very impressive that you're already racing. Boy, it was great to see the determination on your face when you crossed the finish line at Unity. That kind of effort will pay off quick!

Thank you!

:)

I tried it!

I'd get lost during the swim, though

if

Frank would kayak, he could navigate and I could just sight by looking at his brightly-colored boat in front of me.

9M in Bangor

Some on trails and some on roads. Finally found some GOLD! Well, a 14K gold necklace out there... and a penny heads up for good luck. Now headed back (like the pun?) to Lewiston in a few hours for my final shift.

Just another 6M

walk for......... oops. Be right back. Phone’s ringing.

Jeez, that was quite the phone call. I picked up the receiver and some dude's screaming at the top of his lungs. “YOU’D BETTER BE READY!" he shouted. "I’M COMING OUT THERE TO STRAIGHTEN YOU OUT! YOU, YOU… YOU THOUGHTLESS LITTLE PIG!”

Needless to say, I hung up on him........jeez, there’s the phone again. Be right back.....

Ah, everything's all well. It was that dude again -- Alec, he called himself. It was all an unfortunate mistake. Said he'd dialed the wrong number by accident and he was so, so, very sorry and it wouldn't happen again. Said he was trying to reach his ex-wife. Kim someone? Something about her releasing a tape?

Go Team!

P.S. The snow still lives at Bean Brook. By the looks of the rainy forecast, it isn't going to make it to May though.

Hi Bruce.....

You had better have your number changed! Thank's for the laugh :)

8 miles

and another hostile goose encounter. As I approached, two of them were just standing there, dead center and perpendicular to the trail, taking up the entire path, obviously not intending to move. I wasn't about to step off into the mucky, snake-infested grass, and so was forced to a complete stop, stomping and hollering until they finally waddled out of the way, hissing and muttering a string of goose expletives at me the whole time. Dumb geese.

Geese

Ya, we've got a bunch at Bass Lake and they actually chase us sometimes. And there hissing is scary.

Goose repellant

If you could just get one of those coyotes to run lead I bet it would ure the goose problem. Now if you could just find one that could keep up.

Well

The Crow on my shoulder scares them away usually.

Hissss!

just hiss at them. It sounds like the flight of their natural predator, the swan, in flight. I bump into them all the time along the riva' and it works ... very close encounters. However, this is mating/nesting season and they're at their most aggressive state.

Hisssss, away!

Keep running!

3 miles

tired legs today, but fun to be out...

3-miles

3-miles easy, core, lifting and drills.

0 miles, 50 mins on the ET, & a cataract update

Vanessa had her right eye cataract removed yesterday and checked this morning. My over-achiever bride was seeing 20/25 with her new, improved peeper while still dilated and 20/15 with a wee bit of correction. Too cool! She gets the other done 5/9.

50 mins and 739 calories on the ET and some weights. Life is good in the neighborhood.

about 3M

earlier this morning to & fro to the Y in Ipswich before some training for work. Shoulders, back, & wrist, too.

Keep running!

Training

Had a pretty good last 5 days of running. Sunday was 5.5 mi. with ally and Kyle, then Monday was another 5.5 mi. on the green way, solo. Tuesday was up on Roan mtn. with Judson, it was a pretty good run, was worried that my achilles wouldn't be able to handle it , but things went well. Wednesday I did a 4/4 double for 8mi. then everything caught up with me today, cut it short with 3 mi and just cross trained for an hour on the elyptical averaging 230 watts. Had Ryan message my calves, they are pretty knotted up. Keep up the great training everyone, and I'll do the same.

11 miles

in about 6:45s with strides after.

First meet with my kids tomorrow down in York with Greely and someone else probably.
