Reort from soapstone mountain 14.5 trail race. Raining at the start and for most of the day here in Somers, Ct. Ben Nephew led all day and from the start. I had a good start in second pack of five where I was the second runner by mile 2 only to give it back on the flats as four from the pack passed me back. On the next hilly section passed everyone back excpet for the eventual number two finisher. Second half of the race was extremely muddy and I was not able to close any closer than thirty yards on second place. This is the second time I have finished third here the other being pre-surgery when I had to run a 1:43 to place on that day. Long drive home and pick up my kids. Looking forward to a slow easy run to stretch it out today.
