Run MDI Weekend continues.. See you at the Eden Track Festival
were last seen working their way along the Tremont Trot course towards Wonderland. Beautiful day down there along the water... and muffins too. A few scattered puffs which hopefully will build in to a steady breeze and welcome a range of activities across the island... Quietside Parade, Hospice Regatta, Friendship Sloop race, Run MDI Weekend events and our own Eden Track Festival.
and I saw someone's truck, but I couldn't find anyone running. Darn. I really wanted muffins :(
1.5mi easy on Jill's treadmill, still fighting with an irritable ankle.
Tremont trot plus pigfarm add on. Nice morning, Steve went swimming at seawall after. I'm not that tough. Then off to the quietside festival to meet with the girls.
Steel drum band with food and refreshments - a fundraiser for Harbor House and the MDI Alcohol and Drug Abuse Group.

Had a great run up Caddy this morning. Started off with some running in town and then started from the Y with Mary, caught up to Joanne and John near the top. Once on top I got in some laps and some out and backs to Blue Hill overlook where I saw Brian driving up and I ran into Rob biking up. I think he may have already run up.
After getting my 65 minutes in, Karen and Judy both came running up.
About 40 minutes going up Caddy for me from the Y. It was actually a pr, but it felt easier than any time I've ever gone up. I think the high mileage has made me strong. In fact, I think the only way that I can run hills well is off high mileage. Machias 2005, example.
Hope the other runs are going great. I'm going to go watch the movie at the YMCA later and I'll be at the track tonight. And then Jack Russell's.
Thanks Brian for the ride down.
And Judy and Karen were last seen running back down.
What a beautiful day!
I woke up a little early this morning so I headed up Cadillac to watch the sunrise. I could not believe how many cars were on the mountain at 4:30 am! I met Judy at the top and we drove down together in my car to Ledgelawn then headed back up the mountain on foot. Judson, Brian, Mary, Rob, Joanne and Craig were all waiting for us when we got to the top. Mary and I ran back down for a total of 11.6 Garmin miles.
John is Craig. Sorry I'm still asleep.
Actually it was Karen and Mary running back down. Karen and I enjoyed the pre-sunrise sky colors when we met up there to drop off my car. I was a bit slow with tired legs. Thanks to everyone at the top who waited for me to run in. I like running from town to the top (every so often)
and for leading the charge up Cadillac. You rock.
A quite interesting Eagle Lake Run this morning with Beth, Lisa, Marion, Dasher, Riley, Missy, Poppy and Buck. Almost got pulled into the water myself! Jill we are running on Tuesday at 8:15 at Eagle Lake--hope you can join us. Ginger, Sara, Karen all are welcome--it is an open invitation. Hope everyone has a great weekend:)
I'd love to join in on your group run ~ what are your paces? I don't want to slow anyone down, but I'm in training for MDI and have been training solo for a little too long :) Any problem having me join you? ~ julie
I won't be at that particular run but I run with that group often and I know they will welcome you. They usually run with dogs and are pretty easy to spot. Typically the pace is anywhere between a 9:00 and 10:30 minute mile depending on who shows up. They are a very friendly group and usually just adjust the pace to the group.
10 miles in connecticut in 86 minutes. Beautiful sunny day
Hope all is well.
good to hear from you
amid a sea of runners on the towpath. No bugs in the air intake today, just a lot of dust.
just 5 min. ago. "I'm one of Judson's biggest fans. He's famous and he's nice." He got it a little backwards, but it made it even cuter.
welcome to the club!
There were a lot of runners (and their dogs) coming back from runs at 8:30, but Brian and I were the only ones heading out. No problem, it was a great run on a beautiful morning. Brian was running it easy, which is still somewhat brisk for me, but it went quickly and felt smooth.
the Run MDI Weekend is in full swing! I imagine folks are zooming around the track as I write this, and I am truly sorry to miss it. Sure hope someone takes some photos.
Please note that tomorrow's Sunday run from Jordan Pond House will start at 8:45, not the usual 8:00 time.
As Bruce would say, Go Team!
We missed you Chris, Run MDI Weekend is a sucess!
Now to make my chocolate martinis for my visiting sisters and brother! :)
See you at LLP in the morning! Do we meet at the entrance by that gate? I have never run there...
Having Chuck Whitney, Coach Braun , Goupee and other Notable Stalwarts I recognized by face. I always like a good evening at the MDI track/football field for events. Very special to see the community enjoy and achieve a rewarding effort.
my mile was like this:
don't be so anxious, it's kinda like a swim meet it's even got a waterfall start Runners ready AAAAA hey this isn't so bad Cheer louder! one thirty one one thirty two one thirty three zoom zoom I don't see my family here yet. three something or other, what'd he say? damn it Judson's going to lap me I should move so I don't get run over Chris posted 'how to run a mile' as a daily log once, what were the tricks? we should swim race in a pool, then I could lap him Quick feet my feet are moving quickly, should I take smaller steps? I wonder if I still have sand on my legs go faster you're almost done ooooh done but I can't breathe
Beautiful morning out there. Eden sure put on a great event at the track this evening. Really enjoyed the people and there was great running on a perfect night. Great organization. Congratulations to everyone involved and special kudos to Frank. Vanessa will get those photos up soon. Life is good in the woods.
longest run since knee surgery.1.26 around 7.50 pace.Did well holding pace down.Pushing too hard(great song-The Seeds)will irritate the knee.Things are improving.Outrageous running weather for mid-July.Around 65,sunny,low humidity. Dave T.
That was the most fun I've had in a long time. I'm going to give up marathons and stick to the short stuff. The only problem is I won't have Judson there to pace me all of the time, it makes a big difference. We ran over and beyond our goal. We were shooting for 14:30 but creamed it by 11 sec.
Jack Russell's was great! Thanks everyone!
20 warmup, 1-mile race, 25 coolup, 2-mile race, 400 relay, 5 cooldown.
Track meet had a good turnout and it was fun to see everyone get some track pr's.
call it 150.
estimating from posted runs, track meet stuff, etc etc etc. Run MDI!
