Good to have the site back online. What's your run?
ran loops around the lake with Bunker to keep things flat and easy.
for the day on my bike with Lisa and Marion. Great day out there--saw Bob behind Aunt Betty's flying down the hill and Frank on the other side of Eagle Lake. We are running at 7AM from Witch Hole tomorrow morning for anyone interested--around 8 miles--maybe a little more for some:)
EL...lots of fun
(yesterdays, cycling 14 miles, 55 min, Norway Dr. round Indian Point, Somesville and back home on Eagle Lake...good ride done early in the morning)
now off to Mt Washington to support Carol in the race up the auto-road tomorrow morning...yikes...weather looks to be good, that's a start.
I've run that hill, biking it has to be worse.
Mt Washington--the climb by which you will judge all others! yahoo!
Now that I have become a flatlander, that climb seems even more impossible to imagine. Have a safe trip and a great time!
I hope that you and your bike have a great race :D
Good Luck, Carol, and don't forget your new camera.
Here's what was up with the site for the interested/inclined:
(From our web host) ! Critical Announcement! Please Read! We are still experiencing DNS issues for a large number of our domains. After the network problems yesterday, a lot of dns records were somehow dropped from our ns servers, the cause of which we're looking into.
We've been regenerating all dns since last night, but it's a very slow process, slower than we'd like, and there are still a lot of domains not up.
On top of it all, it seems as though our remote dreamhoststatus.com server is under a DDOS attack, taking it down.
Please rest assured we're doing everything we can to fix this situation. If you'd still like to contact us about it, please use the form below as usual.
You can keep updated at dreamhoststatus.com.. assuming we stop the DDOS soon. Otherwise, we'll just be updating the message on this page. (posted 2 hours 43 mins ago)
for the update.
Good luck at the races everyone!
Good luck to Carol at Mt. Wash., too. Like Judson, I can't imagine biking it.
Go team!
I ran most of it. Walked some. It was terrible. What a crazy event.
Couldn't find my fly stroke, but freestyle coming off a breaststroke turn - fire fast :D
8 min w/u 4 x [4 x 25] - build, 1/2 sprint, easy/fast, IMO 4 x 100 IM on 1:45 + 200 easy 4 x 100 IM on 1:40 + 200 easy 4 x 50 free/back off the blocks 6 min c/d
which ended up being the most relaxing part of my day.
Anyone planning to do 8-10 on Sunday around a 10:15ish pace? I need to bring DeLaney with me, and the carriage paths would be much easier than the road with her....just trying to plan ahead.
I hear it gets gusty up there. Stay on your bike!
A few laps of East Eagle..in part with Bob B. as he launched in to a clockwise loop.
Peter - thanks for keeping us informed about the goings on at Dreamhost. By the looks of their "complaint" board it appears they have had their hands full the past two days.
Run Manny Run!
AM run in Cherryfield wasn't quick but the afternoon run around Witch Hole and Paridise, after a big meal, was slower. Capped off with a few strides to cut through the torpor. Felt better afterward.
uhg. same 6.6 around ellsworth as usual. missing the variety of routes on the island. hope to see a crowd on sunday...good luck to all those racing.
...in brand new size 9.5 Asics. Valuable lesson learned.
Great run this morning around EL. It was beautiful. Good seeing Judy B. finishing up her run around the lake. It was nice to have Bob come back to get me after running his 8 miles. Had to show off for approx. .2 mile at a 9:20 pace, making my last mile a 10:30 average. The shoes are working good, Tom. Right foot is staying awake the whole time.
Got to run & chat with Frank, had a close encounter with Vanessa around EL (always fun) & got to see Holly, Marian, & Lisa biking up 7 bridges. Yeehaw! I was pleased with my 59:11, though got to enjoy those chat breaks with Frank & Vanessa early in the run that were off the clock. Beautiful day out there. Life is good in the woods.
4 mile cooldown, core.Good news that's my fastest 1st race returning from an injury in my 5 years road racing.Bad news is I've had to come back from injuries several times in my 5 years road racing ha,ha.I didn't have that extra gear as I would have when in good racing shape so last mile was flat.Knee held up no issues.Hopefully as in previous years I'll finish up season with a PR or two.And get through a winter without an injury for a change.
Good to see you back to racing.
79 miles
