2:34 cycling

Almost got hit, feeling a little shaken.

I went out toward Farmington, then came back and went a couple miles past my house - as I was turning I slipped out into the road a little and a car went by, really close and really fast - the driver saw me, he went as far left as he could... but it was just so scary to see it zoom past at 55 mph

I don't blame you

for feeling shaken. How scary.

I just took a nice long shower

because water is usually calming
but I keep thinking that if it had hit me, it would've been really bad, and it's just so scary

trying to calm down. deep breaths. deep breaths.

Thank you

for the birthday wishes! :)

5.75 mill dam loop....

very nice run, scenic. Now to get ready for the Ocktoberfest! Come on over, lot's of fun!

Does Ocktoberfest count???

I walked around the beer tent many times...:)

I did too....

chasing our two year old grandson.

Just a 2M walk

for the Edenometer this morning. I'm embarrassed to even log it, but because the Red Sox kept me up late last night and I had to be up early to be a volunteer gopher for an event here in town called People for the Steeple!, I only had time to sneak in two miles.

One of the women belonging to the church here in town came up with the idea to hold a community 3 mile walk to raise funds for repairing the church steeple. So, gopher I was for all of the People for the Steeple that turned out and walked and solicited donations for each mile. It was fun, but the amazing part about it was that they raised over $2,500!

Go team! Good luck at the races today and tomorrow everyone.

Bruce,

Every mile counts toward that 60 million mile goal...

12K in Guilford

finished 4th overall (50:20 or so). First was Erik McCarthy - a hair over 44 minutes. Kathleen Bell won for the women. More reports and results will follow. Course was in great condition - they blew any and all fallen leaves off the trail! Probably headed to Blue Hill for an old fashion weekend double on Sunday.

Guilford 12K: RESULTS

[Thanks, Newell!]

25 easy minutes

with CeCelia and DeLaney.

I see the MDI Marathon is on the upcoming events list....reality is sinking in that I am running a marathon next weekend!!!

Witch Hole

and also another 11 miles last week that I haven't had time to report in my travels. I met Jean at Duck Brook this morning and we walked over to the Breakneck Ponds and back before I ran Witch Hole. Beautiful day beautiful day....

18 miles, no bugs

Apparently they all migrated north to Jacobs Field.

:-)

11 miles betwixt us

Vanessa & I logged a total of 11 miles walking from Parkman Mtn. Beautiful Fall morning. Happy Birthday DeLaney (& don't you worry about that MDI marathon Suzanne - you are going to run strong.) Alyie, no more close calls for you - Okay?

Nice running RK. We'll be rooting for all of our racers tomorrow.

Life is good in the woods.

Good luck tomorrow Marathon runners!

Ginger, I'll be pulling for you to BQ! Your approach and focus on this goal the past few years are part of what makes Boston such a great event, and reward.

Judson, you've done all the work and logged some of your long runs in conditions as warm as you'll have tomorrow. Best of luck to you and Evan!

Quiet water.. and a good cause

38 miles (BH counter-clockwise to NEH) in 8:44 on mostly quiet water today as part of the Circle of Hope. This event supports the work of the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Please visit lustgarten.org to read about some of the projects and patient services they fund - including their recent work on Palladin mutations.

A few miles on foot after the paddle in the direction of my car and an enchilada. Some more miles tomorrow to wrap up the circle.

Frank,

that's a long time to paddle! I hope your arms and shoulders aren't too sore. Good luck with the rest of it tomorrow.

Ginger, Judson, Evan, Mark, John, DaveT - thinking of you all, hope your races tomorrow are all that you have hoped form.

love,
Alyie

Good luck tomorrow everyone!

I know you will all do great. We will be watching on the computer and waiting by the phone.

Sara, Matt, Maggie and Fenway

Good luck Judson,Evan,Ginger

I'm doing Maine-half.Weather looking real good if it holds up.

Thanks!

Just a few more hours.. I'm itching to go. I had a really nice 30 min. run on the hotel treadmill, legs felt light and well rested. I can see how it's going to be a lot of downhill. It's very hilly and pretty (in some parts.) Temp. prediction for tomorrow has lowered a bit- it's hard to believe with current temp. in the high 70's. I'll be in touch!

Edenometry (again)

67 miles running/walking
4700 yds swimming
80k cycling
