Kona

Aloha and Mahalo

A fine day, yes.

Not time now for a full report.

The race went about as I had wished for. My swim was a tad slow but I lacerated my right palm on the reef 4 days before and had to deal with glue and bandages, etc. The bike was hot and windy though not as bad as it can be here. The run was about perfect; kept to ~8:30 pace; even half splits 1:53/1:53! I don't believe I've ever done that for a Marathon.

Days and events like Ironman are precious
Live them to the fullest

See you next week when we return

Dr Dave

A really impressive race

Dave--i salute you. Your race was like clockwork, as evidenced by the precision of your marathon. Really impressive effort.

Looking forward to hearing the details.

congratulations,
Ed

I am also looking forward to hearing details

and I'm also curious, if you'd share, what your training was like between IMLP and Kona. I remember swimming with you one morning this summer and you said you were just getting back into training. Two IMs that close together must be difficult - to recover from the first and then build, peak, taper for the second.

And do you have any PICTURES?!!!

I am amazed

at the kind of heart and soul (and training!) it must take for this kind of performance. I stand in awe! Congratulations!

Dave
