Nomination Time for Eden Officers! Need your input by December 1, 2007It is almost the end of the year, and that means that it is time to elect new club officers for next year. The nomination and election process will work as follows: If you wish to nominate someone for an office there are two options: 1) Reply to this thread with the person’s name and the position that you are nominating the person for. (Please make sure that the person you nominate is interested in the position before nominating them on this site.) The offices are: president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, membership, and member-at-large (there are two officer member-at-large positions). Self-nominations are good and we love it when someone is interested enough to volunteer their services. Nominations need to be in by December 1. Alyie, Jean, Sara, Suzanne, and I are the official Nominations Committee. When nominations close on December 1, we will call all the nominees to inform them “you have been nominated by the people in Edenland for the office of ________!” The person then may either accept or decline the nomination. If a position has no nominees, the Nominations Committee will think of people qualified for the position, and request they take it. Once we have a list of people willing to run for office, we will post another thread for votes. You will vote by email and will get a reply to confirm it was received (BobBoydFL@gmail.com). Voting will begin on December 7 and needs to be completed by December 15. For your consideration as you nominate, and later vote for, officers. 1. President - to preside over meetings, represent this association in the RRCA, to call any special meetings, and to appoint committees and chairpersons thereof. 2. Vice-President - to assume the responsibilities of the president in his/her absence, and to take on special assignments as requested by the president. 3. Secretary - to record minutes at meetings, to keep a file of such minutes, and, when requested by the president, to accept assignments involving correspondence and the keeping of records. 4. Treasurer - to administer all financial dues and to have authority to sign or disburse necessary appropriations, as directed. 5. Membership Director - to manage all issues related to recruitment of new members and the maintenance of the current membership base. 6. At Large Members (2) - no specific duties although they do have access to all Officer correspondence and are asked to keep abreast of ongoing club matters. Don’t be surprised if you see this same text in an email – we just wanted to make sure everyone in our club gets the opportunity to participate. |
