Good luck, Turkey Trotters!

And good luck to Sheri P. and Kristin B. going for sub-2:47 in Philly!

5 at 7

38:40, feeling good.

51 minutes

of running and now I'm so sore. Normal, I'm just not used to the pounding. Nice day here.

Good luck to Brian in Boston and Ginger and everyone else at Turkey trot.

6M walk.

Good luck at the races everyone. It's nice to see the membership growing!

Good work, Brian!

USATF 2007 New England XC Championship Meet results.

Brian ran 32:26 for 8K. Looks like Jeff Caron won the 10K in 30:39.

Boston

Brian, nice work in your first x-c race. Now we'll have to get you into a trail race.

Its a small world after all

I had to go and figure out where this famous Franklin Park was. I was bummed I missed it for the Mayor's Cup. Low and behold I bumped into Brian, revelling in his great time. It was a beautiful day, crisp but sunny. Perfect for a cc meet. It was a big surprise to see a familiar face!

I hope all is well and running is good. Happy Thanksgiving!

another Brian sighting

I was there as well today. Great weather at the cc meet, Brian did great.

We didn't have our top 3 for our open team but still managed a 60 second pack time regardless. I had an ok day, doing what I wanted to do which was better my split from Mayors Cup and try to hold. Ended up in 33:50 I think, which is a substantial PR for me let alone in a CC 10k.

Good running all and wow...2 Oly. trial qualifiers who train/run together from Maine...that's great.
Chris

11 total on the day.

Congrats Brian and everyone who raced

I have not seen results from 3 miler but sounds like everyone had a good race.Maine had a serious presence in Boston both 8k and 10k.Outside of Cgat kicking ass several Mainers/ex-Mainers made an impression.Check out results, some inspiring running.

Jeff

Jeff Caron has a blog about his running. Not sure if any of you have seen it, but i usually waste a few minutes each day catching up on him. It is jcexperience.blogspot.com

Adam

Congrats, killer cc 10k time Adam Goode!

awesome 10k time Adam Goode 32:45 on trail! All these killer times in Boston, wow, inspiring stuff.

Nice job

It was great to see a bunch of Mainers kicking butt in Boston. Great job guys.

You guys are really coming along.

4 miles

Still cautiously building, sneaking in the miles between skiing sessions, hoping my foot doesn't notice. So far so good...shhhhh.

turkey trot

only got some prelim results, but Ginger says she ran 22 something although I guess the course was 3-miles instead of 5-k.

Jeff Sprague from the Spudland racers won in 15:3?

Nice work although I guess there are a lot of upset people about the course being short.

Think of it this way, you now all have 3-mile PR's.

turkey trot

Karen and I both would have had 5k pr's (not counting Unity) if it had been a 5k. Back in March I ran 7:44 pace in Lamoine, today was 7:39 pace (22:58) so I'm happy!!!! Karen's big goal has been to break 23 min. she ran 22:09, if it had been a 5k she still would have easily broken 23. Great job, Karen!!!! You're zooming right up to the top. It was a fun day, Jingle Bell will be even better as long as I don't have to drive home. I'll be sleeping whether I'm behind the steering wheel or not.

We had two of our First Striders out there today too. They looked happy and strong.

Hey Julie!! Nice 6 miler with Kasch, now add 10 more to that at the same pace, without the Kaschmeister.

I'm figuring...

...without Kasch it should be EASY!!! :) OK, at least less painful :)

4 miles or so...

one mile warm up then the new turkey trot for another three. Nice course, thanks Judy for the ride up. Can't wait to see the results to see how fast I was.

turkey trot

was fun and fast. There were over 650 participants by the Turkey cash count. The hill before the turn around was just that, a hill. I'm not sure why they couldn't come up with another .08 miles, but that's ok. Mark had the course at 3.02 on his Gramin. Everyone did great. Shannon was top woman in her class. woooeeee. I was 6/22 in my class, ran 25:03. Becky O'Keefe was much faster, she had a nice race. Now here's the tricky part. The time is correct but the pace is figured on a 5k, so it's too fast when figured on a 3.02 mile course. So, my time was posted at 25:02. So, 25:02 with a posted pace of 8:03. Well, if 3 miles, then the pace should have been over 8:30. Anyway, a very nice event and the gym was packed and the shower water was hot. I enjoyed the day and seeing all the Eden shirts...maybe 12 or so.

~3000 scy

.

Kristin Barry and Sheri Piers

both qualified for Olympic Trials next April by running 2:45 marathons in Philadelphia.I happened to see this posted at Dirigo RC website.Congrats to Kristin and Sheri!

Yahoo!!!

I knew they would do it!! Congratulations Kristin and Sheri!!

6 miles

with Kasch ~ the dirt roads around my house aren't nearly as well groomed as the carriage roads!!! Good run, though...8:34 pace pushing Kasch. It didn't feel good, but I'll take it!

Great job to everyone today!

okay Karen

so I figured it out. If it had been a 5k you would have run 22:53 and I would have run 23:42. That's a 15 sec. pr for you and a 14 sec. pr for me:) Correct me if I'm wrong...uh, only it it's in our favor!

Okay Ginger

I won't tell you if I think you're wrong :)

A great showing by Eden at the Turkey Trot yesterday. I counted 17 or so Eden runners. I even saw some Eden shirts worn by people I didn't know. Great job Shannon on your age group win! Also, I noticed Tim was just seconds away from an age group win. That must have been an exciting finish. Congrats first striders on a strong run. See you at the next race :)

Congrats to...

Kristin and Sheri of Dirigo R.C. on their OTQ performances at Philly.

Nice running Ginger, Karen, Judy, John, Mark and others at the Turkey Trot... and Brian on the grass at Franklin Park!

5k row and a hike of Beech. A bit of ice up there..some forming little terraces on the flatter granite faces.

plus, there's

Penny McDermott who qualified with a 2:46 last Dec. so the Maine contingent in April looks pretty impressive. plus, a couple more women have yet to take their qualifying shots

4 miles

Nice to run the Turkey Trot with CeCelia, nice and relaxed. She told me she did not want to race, and wanted me to run with her....and she got mad because I accidentally pulled ahead a few times. Now I feel terrible. I will do better next time. (Bad mother!)

We did what I believe is the "Tom Kirby Tri...run, eat, and shop". My kind of day!

Congrats to all the fabulous performances out there (it was cute listening to you all do the math) and great to see such a showing from Eden!

5ish

at the turkey trot, with a new 3 mile pr. I guess that's all we can claim given that the course was short. : )

Suzanne I'm sure you pulled ahead on the sloping downs since you had that jogger. That's no measure of how good a mother you are--that's gravity. See you tomorrow a.m. at the boat launch, and I promise I won't be cross when you pull ahead of me on the hills.

75 minutes

of pool running. Pretty intense intervals ranging from 20 seconds to 8 minutes.

Headed back to Bar Harbor. Everyone in the 30+ age group in Maine better be scared.

Scared?

I can speak for myself on this one...generally, if I get scared it is because something has startled me or because I am fearful of the unkown. I can assure you that I am not scared of sharing an age group with you. As I can't imagine being startled by running slower than you and I am comfortable knowing the likely outcome, resigned is the word I choose.

5 miles total for the TTrot (including w/u & c/d). Nice to see so many Eden faces yesterday!!

12.5 miles,core

feels winter like out there.Kept pace down with fartleks throughout. Most likely doing T-Day 4 miler. Was final race I did last year before knee injury.Would be a great full circle to grab a 4 mile PR.Congrats Cgat on 10k pr!!!An outrageous time 33:50 and on trail, wow.

Fun day

I had a great time up in Brewer. I was there mostly for the social component and it was an excellent Eden turnout. I enjoyed seeing, in order of appearance, Judy (thanks for the ride from DD!), Robin, John M., Tom K., Karen S., Ginger, Jean and Don, Suzanne and CeCelia, Shannon (and family), Tim T., Austin, Robert J., Jeff B., Becky O., and oh, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. But I warmed up with John, then Shannon, made many disclaimers about tight hammies (they seized up pretty bad during Saturday's short run) and went out for a nice brisk run. It ended up being OK, as I lined up far back, started relaxed, and worked my way up. Garmin had me at 6:50, 6:34, 6:24, + :08 for the last .02. I enjoyed the out-and-back so I could see some of the terrific work being done out there, including Shannon winning her AG--yay! My legs felt fine and I was happy I could still accelerate after very little running for the past 6 weeks.

Mark

It was nice to have the chance to chat with you....and I think you forgot to mention that it appeared you were teaching DeLaney to play spin the bottle! hehe

Oh yeah

she's a sweetie :-) Looks like it's just a matter of a week or two before you'll have another runner in the house too.

And it was very nice to chat with you. I'm game for rambling on about running, the limits of our potential, and other run-wonky stuff anytime.

Thanks!

I just wanted to thank those of you at the Turkey Trot for giving me (and Johanna) such support along the way, but especially at the end. It was great at the Rolling Bones but it was even more surprising to have such support at a different venue. You all make it fun and doable to run! From a happy First Strider!

Tennille

Isn't Eden great? I'm telling you, I would not have been able to progress as a runner at the rate I have without the support of this club. You will find that kind of support at every race you do, I guarantee it!

By the way, you both are looking strong and focused! Keep up the excellent work....we are proud of you! Go girls! :)

Good work Tennille and Johanna!

Sounds like you all did just fine in the big field at TT. Thanks for your report! Absolutely.. EA travels..and it is a highly supportive group.

AlyieTally

120 miles, a couple of hours in the pool between Judson and I, hiking, rowing, Turkey Trot racing, some Trials qualifying times ---good day :D
