Longest Night

1/2 mile

and half of that was walking.

I woke up at 1am in terrible pain, and think I have mastitis (a nursing mom thing.) I took some Advil, and got on the treadmill after I thought it set in, but the pain was still too great. Guess I need to do some compresses and massage; hope I don't need an antibiotic.

Will try again tomorrow; need to be better by Monday for a long run...:(

Rest

a day off might help.

3.1M

in 23:25 and 2 sets of ... Stairs, Baby! (just to keep me honest). Legs Nautilus and Abs/core, too.

Keep running!

Enjoy

the vacation.

6 mi + 3700 scy

easy, 47:24 and

600 w/u
10 x 50 dr/sw
2 x [6 x 100 alt back/breast, IM + 600 free]
2 x 50 back, br

Feeling underrested but it's not the training, it's a week of not getting enough sleep. Nap time later!

Naps

I got the rare opportunity for a nap yesterday. About a half hour before I went to lay down, I was SO sleepy. Then, when I did lay down (for an hour) I was WIDE awake! Our nap expert, Ginger, assures me it takes some practice. It is definitely on my to do list! :)

PS- Meant to tell you Alyie, you looked really lovely the other night.

merci bow coo

I actually made that dress for the Christmas party last year then didn't come becuase it's a loooong drive by oneself. Glad to get a chance to wear it!

Works well as a witch costume, too ;-)

xcskiing 2m

getting in the time, hopefully for just little fits of rain on Sunday. New perfect tracking on the link between EL and Witch Hole and on Witch Hole loop.

60 min.

Schooner Head with Amy. Hope you feel better, Suzanne. Don't fret about Mon. Listen to your body.

6 good miles....

finally....after ten days I run again.

Yeah, where have you been?

Glad to see you back. Five easy miles for me, inside.

I had the flu...

but I didn't go anywhere :)

6 miles

No rhyme or reason as to when or how much my foot hurts, but I will take the good days when I can get them. 20 minutes on the Nordic Track to warm up.

Sunday Runs

What is the current Sunday group run, if any?

Doug..it looks like we'll be off the carriage roads

for a while on Sundays. Feel free to suggest an alternate plan. Sunday runs from the Y?

Oops, I guess

I should have been posting here instead of via email for Sunday runs... Sorry Doug. Mark and I have met the past couple weekends on Bayview. I've got one more weekend where I have to be at work early, sometimes to open, and am not running long in order to make it. Shoot me an email (sh207@adelphia.net) and we'll connect for a run sometime soon hopefully. And I promise to post something here if I actually have an organized plan in the future. : )

8.2..with a few

on foot and the remainder on the virtual river. A sighting of an inflatable Santa Pooh and Frosty too.

Good to see that you are back to logging miles, John. Hope you haven't lost your place on the list!

don't worry Frank.....

still runner number 58, soon to be 57

80 minutes

I ran 80 minutes on snowshoes which for those who have done it know is a lot. I definetly didn't go normal training pace but I was still going 7 something pace and the effort felt a little tougher than normal training pace It was one of the most enjoyable runs I've had in a while. A little sore now since the only snowshoe run I've done this year was a few weeks ago for 30 minutes with matt H., but the snow here is so nice and the roads are not. I mostly stayed on snow mobile tracks, but a few times went into the deep snow which was over knee deep and I could only manage a few stints of that since it was almost impossible to run when you sink down that deep. Gets the heart rate up fast though.

I just hope the snow keeps coming so I can keep up with the snowshoe running. As long as you get some normal runs in and some strides after the snowshoeing I think it's way better than normal running and less pounding for my old legs.
