winter running traction

I'm wondering if anybody has tried any of the running shoes that have built-in metal studs/spikes on them?
I believe Ice Bugs is one brand.
Asics also makes a shoe called the Gel-Arctic which comes with 10 removable track spikes.

or are regular running shoes with Yaktraks working for you?

I asked by wife but I guess there is no ice/snow on the treadmills at the Lab.

I use stabilicers...

just slip them on your sneakers and get running. great on snow and ice, or both at once. 20 bucks a pair. Bought them at the local hardware store in Southwest harbor in the ice fishing section. They stay put, don't move around and have built in spikes. Very comfortable.

shoes

i have the asics and they are good i made my own ( stabilicers by taking the short screws and mounting them on a pair of trail shoes
they wear a little faster but they are only 5 cents a piece so about 35/ 40 cents a shoe get about 20/ 30 miles if you are not on bare hot top

Another one

New Balance also makes a spiked shoe.
The 921 (WR921BL women's/MR921BK men's)
has five removable spikes in the forefoot only.
It's not much to look at...
