My last day to run in paradise...what a beautiful day for a run!
Susannah B. won the women's race and set a new course record (4:28) at the Moab Red Hot 50K last weekend. Looks like her "retirement" didn't quite take!
Congratulations, Susannah!
Sounds like something she'd do.
:)
Ran well but legs never felt good. 63:30 with some hills and a flat part working my way down to 5k pace.
Swim, arms felt all weak, like I'd been lifting. (Pain and fatigue, you will learn the pain in practice and you will know it every race).
I looked over on the 12th 75, "eight left," and Tim's taken his goggles off, "I have to cool down and go to work." I had found that suffer spot, my calves all tight from the sprinting, (suck it up) and was mad to have to do the last eight on my own. So the 13th I went 55 when we'd been holding 52s and he stopped at the wall when he was doing his cooldown. "You're slowing down." I was mad at him for that too, you're stopping right when it starts to hurt and then you do not need the company of others to swim fast so suck it up and work these. They hurt, the last three it was hard enough just to get my arms to turn over.
I love it, I loved how tight my whole body felt while I was going fast. 52-53 works out to like 1:11 pace for a 1500 yd set, not bad.
300 swim 8 x 50 dr/sw 16 x 25 IM order 12 x 25 1/2 sprint 100 easy
20 x 75 on 1:10
10 x 100 on 1:30 recovery
today with Julie and Karen. No more Julie for a while, bummer. Well... at least there's another reason to look forward to summer:)Great run with a nice negative split. Sorry to have missed Suzanne out there.
Just 11 of the 15.4 for me today. I don't think I could have kept up for the last 4 miles. They just got faster as they tacked on the miles. I probably would have dropped back for the last 2 of the 11, but I had the Garmin and I didn't want to mess up their data.
running 11 miles while fighting a cold's not easy. I think you're a real trooper to be running at all.
I was lonely! LOL I didn't realize the ladies were doing a loop, so imagine my surprise when I ran all the way to the Sand Beach lot and still didn't find them! :) So, there and back, plus some running around town for an even 10. Crunches, pushups and even grocery shopping are all done....now REST till Wednesday! :)
Nice long one, Judy!! And nice running today, ladies! We'll miss you Julie, see you soon I hope.
Ran out to Schooner Head this morning--beautiful day with Julie, Karen and Ginger. Then went to the YMCA and did upper body weights.
wondering if I'm still in Maine, just wait 24 hours right? Found a penny.
with Scott F. Still plenty of snow in there. My cold is pretty much gone now.
before 8 a.m. Packed my treadmill clothes out of sheer habit and cursed myself as the warm sun got warmer today. Oh well. Ran 5 on the mill in just over 39 minutes. Felt fine in general, but I have some soreness at the back of my knee that bears watching.
I can't seem to find out where and when. Please help :)
EDEN MEETING is at JACK RUSSELLS
I will be there around 5 pm. That would be a good time for folks to arrive if they want to chat for a bit while they order food. If others are simply going to grab a drink and provide input for the meeting, don't worry about being right on time. Maybe 30 minutes in I'll say something of true importance. : )
I have roughly a dozen items to discuss on Wednesday night. By all means give me a shout (email or call) if you have anything you want brought to the attention of all. It may not already be on the list. Hope to see lots of you there.
The Fairfield Inn in Milford rate was about $130 and it included a shuttle to the start. At this area it would be about a 10 to 15 mile drive to a train or to a T station. If anyone stays out that way you could drive the route Start to Finish park in the Under Common Garage on Sat--Sun--Holidays it is about $15 to park all day. The Fairfield may be sold out already, there are several other hotels in the same area, we got our room about 6 weeks ago.
Jean--Don
Easy day here in Eden South. Beautiful walk with Vanessa for 3 and then another 3.2m on the ET and some weights. Life is good.
Glad you are feeling better John M.
Congrats Suzannah!
