Run if you got'em.
24:01, 23:28
Crashed and burned a little in the second one - went through 2.5k in 11 and change. And then it started to REALLY HURT.
off to freeze my little tri-chick tail off in an ice bath. We've got fancy ice cube trays that make them in penguin-shapes!
2 hours 10 minutes with 30 minutes of hard intervals during the last 50 minutes. Piece of cake. I think that's at least 4 weeks straight of 2+ hour runs. I don't think I've ever done that, ever.
Ran into Ginger a couple of times. Hope her 3 hour run is going well. She's doing 10x3:00 hard during the final hour. Good luck.
From the Herrick Rd to Bass Harbor/Seawall/Manset loop and back. 1:34.
Now time for a cold bath. I have been doing more of them, but I am asking my legs to work harder than ever before so I want to baby them all I can. After, a nap with DeLaney (I hope) and grocery shopping. Tomorrow I'm not running a step! LOL
Nice work Judson and good luck Ginger!
in 3 hours. Some with Karen and Amy. Great run, final 30 min. were tough.
my computer froze up, and I got clicking.
NICE!!!
11 of the 19.39 for me. I jumped in at mile 8 and did the Schooner, Miller Garden, Otter Creek loop. Ginger was running strong. Yesterday, she said we were to do 3 minutes at 10k pace with a 7-minute rest. Today, she said it changed to 3 minutes at 10k pace with 2-minute rest. That's quite a change!
and what about ME !!!!!!
I was going to mention Tom's heroic rescue but I wasn't sure how to word it without offering too much information. I'll just say, whenever you need him, Tom seems to show up. Thanks Tom.
we won't tell Eden that you were having a hot flash and needed a bucket of ice:) heehee!!
lets get along ladies.
another reason to stay 20 forever
Did you read some of those articles yet by Frank Horwill?
there are 72 of them you know!
They are pretty useful :-) maybe rather than re-inventing the wheel I will take what they have for 10k training and just cite it in my paper.
72 of them on that website. plenty more.
I was just teasing Karen. She was just fine.
you are always trying to be funny. You are the comedian of the group.
I'm sure if I had needed a bucket of ice he would have had one in his truck :)
the back of the truck is still full of snow if that helps
and Karen and Amy and TOM K too.
some incredible miles getting logged today. simple 7 for me.
COLBY!!!
8 x 75 on 1:10 500 w/ 2 lengths of it kick 8 x 75 on 1:10 3 x [4 x 25 1/2 length sprint on :45 + 100 easy] 8 x 75 on 1:10 with :15 vertical fly kick every odd 300 flutter kick 8 x 75 on 1:10 100 swim + 4 x 25 fly kick
Stroke felt really good. I focused on turns and breathing today :)
just simple running for me. Lucky to get that in.
Not to be left out of the ice bath/ 5min/ 20 min/ legs / head ect.
With some help from Shannon on our last two snowshoe runs we have been trying to come up with the perfect winter exercise workout and cool down.
Our LAST EXPERIMENT had Shannon run for 2/3 miles on snowshoes while wearing a wind breaker jacket ( the kind with the pouch /pocket in the back) as you run the snow kicks up onto your back then slides down into the pocket ( left open )
well this may sound silly but the pocket slowly fills with powder snow and as you get warmer during the run it soon forms snow that is perfect for a snowman or snow ball fights , but if you just leave it there as you run along and it keeps your core from overheating which can happen when you are snowshoe running and it saves a lot of time during your cool-down worrying about the ice bath that you need after the run . So that when you are done you have had your workout and cooldown all in one session which saves a lot of time if you are busy mom and already late for whatever you are doing next in your day !!!
Laugh all you want this is a big improvement from our first try ( which was having Shannon run for an hour wearing cotton yoga pants
both runs have been progressive weight workouts as she gets heavier as the run goes along .
so i hope that clears up some of these issues
Got on the mill again. Plus 2.5k of rowing.
I have a workout on Sat. If you're still needing to back off a bit, maybe you can join me! Shannon too. The more the merrier! I won't be talking much, I know that. I'm working on my 5k time. Flattop's coming up, ya know.
cooling pouch approach makes a lot of sense to me.
Good work out there Ginger. You get a gold star!
6.5 of running and rowing.
for the gold star, Frank. I'll have Oliver or Elliot make me one tomorrow and I'll balance it between all of my running trophies.
the date we had picked March 23 is Easter Sunday so we need to re/do the Date would it be better to do it on Sat. 22 or would people rather run on the Sunday before March 16th either date will be o.k. with Robin so everyone talk it over and we can re/plan the group run
works better for me, but let's see what everybody else thinks.
treadmill is up though not quite 100% tech will return to fine tune a few things.Benefit of buying good exercise equipment if it fails the warranty/customer service is usually good and that has been my experience so far.Great to run again and because of the aggressive biking I didn't lose much fitness.Well I'll know tomorrow usually the first run after a layoff is fine it's the subsequent workouts when you feel the time off ha,ha.
Close to a rest day here. Beautiful walk with Vanessa for 4 miles each and 3.3m cruising on the ET, plus weights.
Good work on all those long runs!
Life is good.
