GO JUDSON AND EVAN!!!
this is old news possibly but as of 8 a.m. there were fewer B2B spots left than Spartans at Thermopylae (at the beginning of the battle I mean)
seawall campground to bass harbor light and back. Good luck JC and crew !
Is there anyone else out there who gets chaffage from wearing a heart rate monitor?? Had a hard strap that did it, then went to a soft strap and still does it, any suggestions other than ditching the entire works?? Thanks, your member from away. Oh yeah, todays run: 18 miles in 2:25
maybe? Hopefully that would prevent chafing but not make it slip around too much.
I think Alyie's suggestion about Body Glide is a good one...that stuff works great.
I have added your name to the Edenometer. Be sure to enter your miles! Just click on the link in the gray bar at the top of this page. See you there!
NOT personal experience but Mary has a few
They make running/jog bras that fit the chest straps for HRM
Like I said , can't vouch for how they work
I wear these a lot of the time and only very occasionally get chaffing. I make sure the fit is snug and tucked under the my bra strap. Some straps are thicker than others though. I use polar and garmin straps and both are ok in this regard. The Polar is thinner for sure.
the club, on Team Eden for Boston, and posting on the site. Thanks for your miles!
9.2 for me..with 12k on the rower and the rest on foot.
you're darn fast! Nice run.
1 mile stroll afterwards. Got to do 10 miles through the neighborhoods with Melissa. It started out with menacing weather but turned into a beautiful morning by the end of the run. The Two Trials has me taking longer walks too, a good thing. Life is good.
Paula, nice job on that long run. Wish I had a good answer for you on the strap chafing.
run: 7.6 mi bike: 72 min
you keep going and going and going!
everything else is upside down in my life right now I'm clinging to training like it's a lullabye
hang in there Alyie. Better days ahead.
I just have a lot going on right now with school and this whole "falling in love" thing. It's a lot to think about! I wrote in my journal for so long today (it helped).
I'm okay. I'm just growing up. It's confusing.
When's summer :D
Yes...growing up, falling in love, all those wonderful and scary things can be very confusing! Just remember to enjoy the ride. You are a fine young woman and you will emerge on the other side just fabulous, I am sure of it!
Not a good run today. I had planned to do 16, but knew from the first few steps that it probably wouldn't happen. Might have been that tempo run yesterday. Oh well, it will be better next time.
Go Judson and Evan!
anyone know the weather down there?
Judson struggled today, things didn't go as planned. I'm sure he'll give us his race report later on tonight when he gets home.
Struggled is an understatement. I went from 1st place at the mile mark to 98th place and being passed by 60 year old guys in pink Pokadot shorts.
I only went out in 5:23 which is really slow, so I couldn't believe I had the lead and felt so aweful. Of course 5:23 pace which I can normally run all day seemed much harder today and soon I was running 6:20's. Weather was perfect, but obviously being sick in bed last week for about 8 days with the flu and a URI took there toll. The worst thing is I let our team down. We had 2nd place in the bag if i'd just run half descend. I ended up running so bad I didn't even finish as our 5th runner to score and we ended up 5th place team. I was also very pissed about getting my butt totally kicked by that guy from Vermont. He ran 1:08 and I know I can do that. Instead i ran as hard as i could and fought all the way and ran 1:16:45ish. Since I've gone through 1/2 way in marathons as fast as 1:09:26, this was plain ugly.
No one needs to say anything, I know why I ran bad, doesn't mean I like it. I'm more angry for letting a great team down and not doing what I said I'd do to Vermont. 2 weeks ago top 5 was in the bag. Today I managed top 100.
One last thing, no one will believe it, and I must say I wouldn't if i hadn't seen it, but I saw a UFO on the ride back tonight. I don't believe in UFO's, but I know what I saw and it was not anything I'd ever seen. Other people were stopped on the road looking at it and I stopped and just couldn't believe it. I went through all the things it could be, but it was so close to the ground, maybe 400 meters and so big with lights that I could see it very good. Plus it was hovering triangle shaped with a flat front and really thick. Like I said, no one will believe me and I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it, but it wasn't anything man made I'd ever seen. take that as you will. And no I'm not drinking or anything. This is real.
sighting?
saw the same thing last night about 7:30 it was wierd looking it was flying very low and it did look like a triangle ( it may have been that weather machine that they said George Bush had built to make it snow in China and to off/set glodal warming , but that is just a guess
was Bear Stearns crashing and burning.
the year is young. You are one of the best runners in the state if not New England.Stay focused I want to see you kick some ass.
I know why I ran the way I did, and I know I'm in great shape, so hopefully it's just a matter of getting my strength back and getting a couple solid weeks in.
Go Celtics. Big game tonight.
nice comeback and win against San Antonio after being down by 22.Houston will be tough and Celtics will be fatigued playing back to back games.Should be a good game though.Boston is showing what they have against some of the better teams in the league.
Boston stayed tough and worked there way back. It was great. It will be tough to beat Houston tonight, but they could. Cassell is starting to look better. Once he gets into sync with the rest of the team he's going to make the Celtics almost unstoppable. Plus they didn't have Ray Allen last night, so Cassell stepped up.
if Allen is back 100% tonight that will help big time.Cassell is playing inspired. He was traded to a team that could win it all so he's into it.
with Mark and Tom. Great run!
7 with Ginger and Tom plus extra to the Y and back. Enjoyed the run and my legs felt pretty good, only mildly fried from the tennis match yesterday.
followed by two peanut butter sandwiches and a nap with DeLaney!
I'm not sure if 14 today was the smartest move; on one hand I wasn't running a fever and felt *ok* for most of it, on the other hand I was pretty wiped out by the end. Either way, the miles are in the bank. 9:13 pace which I was surprised to see, considering how sick I've been. I will be taking my regularly scheduled rest day tomorrow!
at a snails pace...definitely fighting something.
Mark, tennis sometime?
Thanks to Tom's bullying, I'm all signed up for B2B too!
You know how I love to register for things early, I guess it really pays off with this one. Hmmm....when do we register for Sugarloaf?
YOU haven't registered for that yet??? It's probably closed by now.
because as of this afternoon B2b is all filled up. Just over 1 day it filled up.
in a slow 1:40 but is was great to run & have no pain. Just need to take it EZ for a little longer & get some long runs in in the next few weeks.
Keep running!
A great day to run. We ran from Kebo out Schooner Head to the Overlook and back. Hardest part actually was to keep it slow as we wanted to because we are following the 4m to 4hr book...nice to have the garmins to keep us in line.
