What's your run?

14 miles

Another long treadmill run. Old Man Winter is definitely outstaying his welcome.

How did the Flat Top preview run go?

2 hours; 13.54 miles

A great run with the exception of having to stop and blow my nose every half hour.

I hit a mini wall with only 9 minutes left to run. What's up with that? I kept going though. :)

Thanks Ginger....I bought Smash Mouth's "All Star" from Itunes last night so now I have it on my Ipod. Great song.

Suzanne's

back! Nice run.
I'm a Believer is my favorite Smash Mouth song. It has a great beat for running.

Thats

a good one, too. I had forgotten about it. I had never purchased music from ITunes before, and they make it SOOO easy. I need to be careful, it's addicting!

rest

:P

Happy Bunny says "downtime bites"

No new swimsuit yet.

Alyie

(((hugs)))

well

dowtime always sucks because it's no fun to not get to train... but it is good for me (you have to recover at some point right? I got in about 35 hrs of training over spring break).

After the tri season ended the Brunswick tri coach told me he took TWO WEEKS completely off. I keep thinking of that. It is inspiration :D

still no new swimsuit...

12-miles

12-miles but with that much wind, it felt like 20! Isn't running along the coast great:)

Preview

A lot of running around Lamoine in the cold wind this morning--down to the beach and back with Shannon and Amy, who were both running smooth and strong. Then out to the 5k turnaround with them plus Ginger, Tom and Robin, then on around the rest of the loop. Call it 11.5 though folks kept saying the wind was worth another mile. Big thanks to Robin for the hospitality and Tom for the goodies.

Wind

It wasn't as windy as yesterday, but it was still enough to make me bend right into it to keep going forward today. I'm guessing 13 around Lamoine with Mark and Amy, Robin, Tom and Ginger. The course looks even flatter than I remembered it; good sign.

Kate Goupee and the Trek Across Maine

Kate, Andy, and other Goupee family members will be riding across the state on June 13-15 to benefit the American Lung Association. Visit Kate's site to support her in this effort.

Julie!!!!!

Don't forget to log your miles!!! I would do it for you, but I can't remember what it is. I know it's 26+ miles for one day!!! YOU GO GIRL! Ya, that's right, she kicked butt in an ultra marathon today!

Wow, go Julie

If I'd known I'd have cheered for you from here. Now I can just yell my congratulations. You're one tough chickie!

32 miles

for Julie.

She ran a 50-k trail race but she said it was longer than 50-k. Just an easy training run for Boston she said.

Holy Cow

that's amazing. I can't imagine running that far. I don't know how she does it. I like having her for long runs, because just when I'm starting to slow down she gradually starts picking it up, no slacking allowed.

Julie

is crazy, to use the words "32 miles" and "easy run" in the same sentence! LOL
You are awesome, Julie...WOW!!!!

32.15 for me today

A trail ultra in Jax that I ran at the last minute ~ Karl's the only person (except the people who talked me into it) that knew I was going....it was FUN!!! I know, I know, but it really was...beautiful trails, nice weather, and a great group of people. Ended up running it in 5:07 even which put me in 4th place for overall women, 9th place overall. I ran it as a training run ~ overall pacing came in at 9:34 but of course this includes check-ins after every 8 miles, re-fueling stops (we supply our own stocked coolers at the 8 mile check-in) and a bathroom break. I felt great after the run and still feel good the day after! Now I finally feel like I'm ready for Boston!

Thanks for all your comments! Great running for everyone today!

just out of curiosity

what did you use for fuel - anything aside from gels? For long distance tri, it's common to use real food (energy/candy bars, pbj, etc on the bike where you can actually eat) and then at run aid stations they'll often have cookies! And best of all, flat coke :D

I used

Accelerade gel & drink ~ they had plenty of food and candy on the table, but I wanted to stick to what I knew worked for me...plus, it's only 6 miles more than a marathon so I really didn't think I'd need more.

Excellent

job, Julie. I'm glad you feel better about Boston, you should.

3.3m

all on the ET. I've fallen off the posting bandwagon this week, which has been something of an unplanned rest week with half mileage. We fired up our Running Class down here this week, which has gone very well. Sure made me wish I could fly the Eden team down though & made us both think of First Strides and miss our Eden running friends. I did enjoy getting to run something close to fast on the track Weds. - it was fun. Gas up the Eden jet and bop down here as we could use some more Group Leaders for the next 9 weeks. Then we'll be running the trails with all y'all. Life is good.

16M

for a good long run.

Keep running!

25 miles

for me.

21 miles with Evan in the morning. We basically ran the marathon course to the eagle lake road and then ran to the track. The final mile+ was on the track pacing Brian in some 400's.

4 miles in the afternoon easy.

19.25 with Jean

from Kebo/Jean's house out Schooner Head, Ocean Drive, Otter Creek and back with some loops through in. Started at 3:40 and ended after dark. We needed our head lamps coming up the hill on Spring Street. Thank's Don for the support.

Awesome job, ladies!

:)
