"Mind is everything: muscle -- pieces of rubber. All that I am, I am because of my mind." -- Paavo Nurmi, Winner of 12 Olympic Medals
'liptical, abs/core and some upper body wieghts. Oh, ya, some much needed stretchin' aftah the 'liptical.

with Amy and Bozo. Kinda hard with the wind and teenage dog to deal with. Bozo loves it, so it feels great to get him out. I'm sure he'll get easier to run with as he matures.
on the ET plus a 4 mile stroll with Vanessa. Tough day yesterday. Vanessa's brother died unexpectedly. Perhaps there is no better time to express to our friends than now how much we appreciate you in our lives. Life is good, but life is short, so please be sure you are enjoying every day. We are looking forward to being back in the woods
Please send Vanessa our condolences. How very sad. (((HUGS))) to you both.
for you and Vanessa. I am sorry to hear of the death in your family. love, Alyie
to hear about Vanessa's brother. That is terrible news. My condolences to you and your family. Bob, thank you for the reminder to enjoy every day.
and strides, too.
Wow, my workout is a carbon copy of Steve's,minus the stretching.
happened on the brick last night (hadn't planned to cycle that long and didn't bring fluids - sucked up 20 oz of gatorade while I ran, minus what I spilled on myself. Sugary, sticky fingers: another thing that just makes it feel like TRI). Again today, didn't drink enough during the workout (hadn't planned to run that far!) and aaaa my body feels awful. I'm working on getting some liquid down, it took awhile last night for my tummy to feel settled enough for solid food. The solution to this problem is, of course, to just keep water/sports drink with me at all times... but like I told Brian (the tri coach Brian) the other day, I will learn everything the hard way, and I will learn those lessons a thousand times over.
swim: 2900 yds (main set 12 x 100 on 1:25) run: 8 mi w/ 25 min @ 7:20 pace
I got in trouble at the gym today for wearing just shorts and a sports bra. I've been running like that since FALL and this is the first time someone's said anything. Silly! Wearing a shirt when I run means more laundry to be done!
you will have to wear a LAB COAT SOON you will look like the sticker person at Wal Mart !!!!!
I'm working at their fitness center with humans on hamster wheels...
read the FINE print in your contract
Time to start looking for new sneakers AGAIN. Has anyone tried Zoot or Newton?? I used to be a loyal New Balance wearer (I have extra wide feett, but they don't have a lot of cushion and are heavy, then went to Mizuno and absolutly loved how light they are, but they just weren't wide enough when I started running the miles and I'd get blood blisters, I now have Asics in wide and still my feet had issues at the marathon. Any suggestions? I was thinking mens, but not sure if I can get them small enough as I wear a 7.5 ladies.
www.locorunning .com they tend to be a little wider than most models
47 minutes. Ran with a co-worker from that location out in the POURING RAIN. Stupid me, I forgot to apply vaseline to my nipples and paid dearly. I wore a white nike shirt from my larger baseball days and it looked like I got shot in the heart. Pretty ugly...but a good run otherwise!
Hi Paula, I have wide feet too. I like the Mizuno's and they do come in wide...at least for the model that I get which is the Mizuno Wave Rider 11. This comes in B and D. I wear neutral shoes...
Also, knowing I need wide, I really like the Loco shoes from the New Hampshire company Locorunning (www.locorunning.com). They are plenty wide for me.
I used to wear Nike Pegasus, but they kept changing and the heel fit went south for me.
I have never heard of these shoes, are they sold in stores or just online? If so, who sells them?
they are a new hampshire outfit They only make a few shoes...one of each type and a running flat. and they don't change them very often.

I call in an order, but you can order on line too. I don't think they are in any stores, but maybe they are in New Hampshire.
oops i was wrong...I found a listing on their site of stores that carry the Locos. Here's one in Maine
Maine Running Company 563 Forest Avenue Portland, ME 04101 Phone: (207) 773-6601
Maine Running Company can help you out with the shoe issue. The store is staffed with very knowledgeable folks with a wide(no pun intended)selection of shoes.
store in Portland carries them
on the rubber road with the girls stealing peanut butter cookies as I ran. Smart kids. : )
I'm so sorry for your loss Bob and Vanessa.
A good day to hide inside. Ran 4 on Great Meadow yesterday easy to shake out the legs after the hard run/long drive double this weekend, then a moderate 5.5 on the mill in 43:20, settling at 7:48 pace after my warmup.
My condolences Vanessa and Bob. A tough day indeed--take care of yourselves.
Our thoughts are with the both of you.
