"Our running shoes are really erasers. Every step erases a memory of a past failure. Every mile brings us closer to a clean slate." -- John "The Penguin" Bingham

Keep running!
...and I really mean it! :) All the things I usually do during the week, like grocery shopping, major housecleaning, etc...I've done ahead so I can relax all week. My family is here from NY for a week so I am enjoying them and taking it easy!

cycling. Legs felt good and I am quite pleased with myself.
with Amy. Felt great! I just called Julie, I got the pep talk I was hinting for:) She'll be here soon!
Half day at work. I'll be at the gym early this afternoon for a short elliptical so the fat burns better during my weights/ab work. I also got the season opener for the Bangor City League (Men's Softball) tonight @ 6:20. I'll get to show off my Jacoby Ellsbury-like skills.
I've just been informed that my baseball team opens tomorrow night under the lights in Auburn @8PM. Man, it's gonna be a late night. All for the love of the game.
Played two innings at catcher and went 0-for-1 with a groundout to second base. Almost beat it out, too. Not much action because we had 20 people show up to tonight's game, but I got a kick out of wow'ing people with how I look now and how fast I get up the first base line.
I'll get plenty of playing time with Wednesday night's doubleheader.
One thing that amazed me was, up until last year, taking a warmup run around the outside of the field fence always gave my legs a solid workout and got be breathing heavy. Now my legs just feel a bit warm and my heart rate barely climbed above resting. I really love how running has done that for me.
that's really cool! Good luck with Wednesday's games.
are you staying with family at the Sugarloaf Hotel? There's a possibility that another male runner may be looking to bunk up and share the cost. I don't know if you've heard of him.....Tom Kirby??? His first choice is to carpool Sun. morning. By the way, I'm doing the leg work for him because he's procrastinating and I WANT HIM THERE!
It's just me. They didn't have a single-size room left so there is an extra bed if anyone wants it. Have him let me know.
on the pigfarm road. kind of a tempo run. It felt like one anyway.
"ZAP Fitness resident athlete Brendan "Thor" O'Keefe continued his excellent 2008 campaign on Friday evening 5/9 at the Oregon Twilight Invitational. O'Keefe moved through the field over the final 700 meters to finish 2nd and establish a new personal best time of 3:40.90. The time knocks 1.09 seconds off his previous best of 3:41.99 and improves his 2008 Olympic Trials Qualifying time. O'Keefe returns to action this weekend as the pacesetter at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta."
Watch it here.
Way to go Brendan!
all on the machine.
Great run, Brendan! Good to see you healthy and running well a month before Trials.
Thanks for checking in Jeff O!
