Bike Day

30-miles this morning on the bike, what a day :)

93 min

cycling. My blood sugar was getting low but my legs felt nice and smooth, spinnnnn spinn spinn

5.19 miles

with my assistant. Flat 4 and then some, my assistant wouldn't let me do the EL hill AND he wouldn't let me run 6 miles. I figure, since he's been running for about 65 years he ought to know something. I didn't like it but I did it. We did a few pick ups and recovery walks (I think he was just tired) then we ran marathon pace for 1/2 a mile. We talked about different ways to manage the last 10k and ways to conserve energy (posture, arm swing etc...)

Red Hot Chili Pepper

Mother's Day 5K Photos

Are up. 4 parts.

I'm on photo 115 of the first set, #2021. I felt as old as I looked in that snapshot. LOL

50 minutes from MDI....

while waiting for Patrick's driver's ed class to end. Up eagle lake road toward bar harbor and back. All up hill on the way out, just the way I like it.

8 miles

It was all I could do to get myself out there after a busy work day, but I ended up having the best run I have had in a couple of years. Go figure.

Hard to believe that Patrick will be driving already. John, in the meantime, you are getting in some great runs...that Eagle Lake road hill is a bear!

It's a perfect use of the time.....

and a neat place to run. many different options from there. All hilly. Good job on your run, sometimes we run best when we think we are tired.

5.5

Great Meadow area, slow but didn't feel all that easy.

Thanks to Judy for organizing the..

Thursday afternoon run around Eagle. Sounds like a good day for a loop around the lake. One day this summer we'll have to have a staggered start group "time trial" around Eagle. Slower folks start first, speed merchants last... should make for an interesting run from the boat launch ramp to the bridge when everyone comes together.

7 miles

Mostly easy, except 4 X 400 @ 5-k pace sprinkled into the last two miles. Also, a couple of strides for good luck. :)

So I am standing at the track meet in Ellsworth tonight, and who is over on the sidelines but my sister from NY?!!? She showed up as a surprise....she drove all that way just to see me run Sunday. My brother is coming from NY as well. I have the best family!

EL with Jean

although I have a bit of muscle pull in my leg, so I walked downhill. beautiful evening, we heard loons on the lake
