Saturday, May 17th: Daily Log

OK, so I know I'm early but I know all you Sugarloaf Marathoners/15ker's will be leaving Saturday so I wanted to be sure to get this posted....

My birthday wish is that you ALL have GREAT races!!!! :)

**I know...a lot of pressure...if you don't all have good races my 18th birthday will be ruined forever!!!! :D ;):) **

Happy Birthday

Julie!!!!

Happy Birthday, Julie

Have a wonderful day. Are you going for a birthday run?

Nope...

...I was originally thinking about running The Twisted Ankle Trail Marathon, but it filled up before I registered. I'm a true believer that all things happen for a reason, so that was my sign to rest and let my body heal the injuries I've been ignoring for the last year while training to qualify for and run Boston. Gotta get ready to run lots in Maine this summer!!!

OK...time for champagne!!!! Ginger, I expect to have some more when I get to Maine! :)

Hope you have

a wonderful birthday!

I've just done

the very most important part of my marathon training....painted my nails. After my short run in a little while, I should be good to go! :)

4,500 scy + 6.5 mi

cranky and tired in the water, which faded by the end of the run but now it's back.

1000 w/u
2 x 200 - kick, IM
3 x [4 x 25 on :30] + 15 sec extra after each set of 4
build
1/2 pool sprint
easy, fast

3 x 100 on 1:25 desc
5 x 400 on 5:30 desc and neg split (5:00, 4:55, 4:52, 4:50, 4:50, 4:50) - told you I was tired but I did neg split them all, my strategy being "out in whatever and back in 2:20ish"

5 x 100 on 1:30 c/d

50 min for the run, with 5 x 60 sec @ 6:15 pace. I was really quick-stepping - I think that is good?

there is

race day of registration for the 15k, right? I was planning to drive up tomorrow AM. Safe travels to all of you headed up today (happy camping, Tim and Michele!) and I should see you all in the morning :-)

3 miles EZ

and strides.

Before I head out, I want to thank you all for your advice, support, laughter, and never ending encouragement on this journey. I am so thrilled to be a member of this fine club, and will be proud to cross that finish line wearing my Eden singlet tomorrow! (((hugs))) to you all!

And now, its time to go. AND I'M READY. :)

I'm off

well, stopping for some lunch somewhere first, and THEN I'll be there. Happy birthday Julie, and hope to see some of you up at Sugarloaf!

At the Hotel

It's beautiful here but I have no memory of this place! Last time I was here was as a child and nothing (other than the mountain) looks familiar. I'll be drifting around aimlessly, but if someone up here wants to corral me for something, my cell's 299.8305

A little story

To share about Saturday night, missing shorts, and the Farmington Wal-Mart. More to come after the Marathon, but for now, I must sleep!

is anyone going up to Sugarloaf

tomorrow to watch/ run i am looking to ride/carpool if anyone is going
call me at 266-2556 or 667-9771

Good luck Sugarloafers!

and Tim I hope your tent is waterproof :)

Good luck Eden crew at Sugarloaf

We are proud to have been part of your journey. The time on the clock tomorrow won't fully represent the tremendous progress you've made as runners, or the level of fitness you have attained. That is something you work towards, and benefit from, everyday. That said..I hope and believe you all will make your "numbers."

Happy Birthday Tom K and Julie!

it's Tom's birthday too?

sheesh, I talked to him on the phone this morning and he didn't even mention it was his birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!

before this gets out of hand

it is not my birthday
nice try Alyie

it seems we missed your birthday

I found the May Birthday post. I guess I should change it to Happy Belated Birthday.

how could it get out of hand, everyone's up at the MOUNTAIN

i just double checked my drivers lic. and it is still not until July same as every other year i also called my mother to make extra sure

My mistake..

We are still working our way to Tom...Happy Birthday Patty Kirby!..May 15th

Happy Birthday Tom and don't

listen to those that tell you how old you look. They're clueless. You're holding your age very well. I hope I'm doing as well when I'm 79.

8 miles

Happy birthday to Tom and Julie, both belated and real-time!

And lots of good wishes to all those running at Sugarloaf tomorrow. I am proud of and inspired by all of you!

Hope someone is able to relay some updates back to HQ periodically...

Go Sugarloafers!!!!

Sending best wishes to all Eden racers tomorrow. I look forward to hearing how it all goes. Do we have an Eden correspondent on location tomorrow? I loved the mile-by-mile coverage we had last year. It was very exciting.

Happy Birthday Julie and Tom (belated)!!!!!

GO Edenistas!

I wish everyone a great day tomorrow...Best Wishes to All.

Have a great day at Sugarloaf everyone

Send us reports when you're done!

Waited out the rain and got 5.5 easy at WHP in reasonably dry late-afternoon conditions. I'm fighting something (sore throat, logy), so it was good to get a low-key run. Hopefully I'll be able to run from EL tomorrow and maybe see a few other non-Sugarloafers.

5 miles....

nice and easy from the high school.

Good luck to all

Hope you all have great runs.

Happy Birthday, Julie!

9 miles mill 65:21

stayed easy 8mph with surges 10.3-10.5 mph, incline 1%.Knee continues to rebound.Brutal workout.I opened one window but should have opened more.Plus no fan so I basically punished myself at 70-78 degrees for the run.Miss running outdoors and will be there soon. The mill is versatile enough to beat the crap out of me and at the same time a forgiving surface for the knee.Good luck all runners in Sugarloaf tomorrow.I'm looking at Red Hook Ale 5k 5/25 in Portsmouth NH for a return.
