feel SO good!! But I will behave, and only ride the bike for the next two weeks. We'll see later how long DeLaney allows me to ride today, I'd like a little more of a workout than 4 miles. lol
nice & EZ and some stretchen'.
Keep running!
Ahhh, the fun of having the stationary bike in the living room! First, DeLaney wanted me to read her books while I was riding. The bike is hard for me, so this was not an easy task. Then, a little after 7 miles I notice she had stripped off her diaper. "Bottomless, Unpotty-Trained Child" definitely trumps "Id Like To Get a Few More Miles In." So, 8 miles it was! :)
80 pushups and ab work, too.
Anyone going down to the trail run @ Pineland this weekend? I can't believe RK is talking me into this...
You're lucky you can run! I'm not allowed....for 16 days!!!!
(I'm joking...I'm lucky, too...Judson knows whats best for me.) :)
Have fun, can't wait to hear about it!
Is crazy...but we all knew that! He believes that I should be fine to run this weekend, based on how I felt and recovered these past few days, and what I have been running up to this point.
Also I think that, as long as my legs feel good, I should be alright to run a 25K. I just gotta go more conservatively.
a bit crazy, but a good influence and a great guy. Just run Pineland instead of racing it. Your body is more tired than you're acknowledging right now. It would ruin the fun if you were hellbent for glory and had to drag an exhausted carcass through the back half of the run. I wanted to do Pineland this year but had another interesting event fall into my lap so maybe next time.
I plan to just run it with no set goal in mind. The fact that I'm running this much so soon after a marathon is a first for me so taking it easy in this long run is probably a priority for me.
running along the carriage trails in the Bangor Woods with RK. It's a very nice place to run. Legs feel great, if but a little tired.
agreed. much nicer on the trails and easy on the legs. why haven't we done this before?
1-for-3 plus a walk, and made a few defensive gems. We won 17-12. The city league team now has a 2-3 record on the year.

Just type in your bib number, provided they got it. I'm not sure if all the photos are up yet because as of right now, they have one early photo of me but no finish line ones.
my track kids. We went out for pizza after practice, but I made them earn it.....I surprised them with some hill repeats in the middle of our walk. hehe
Congrats to Judson on Athlete of the Week!
They should just make it a permanent thing. Or better, just name him Athlete of the Millennium.
(Way to go Juddy.)
But Suzanne deserved to be athlete of the week. I took a mere 38 seconds off my pr while she ran a 30 minute pr.
But thanks.
That's sweet of you to say.
I love reading about the track workouts. I can't wait to join you all. I am hoping when I get my summer job schedule, I don't have to work on Wednesday nights!
Ya..I've heard they now are going to call it the Sugarcake Marathon.
I've also heard that Rob H. and family may soon be back in our midst. If you're lurking out there Rob, check in and tell us what you all have been up to.
Sounds like a good group at the track!
Sugarcake Marathon, I love it!! A new nickname, thanks, Frank.
I agree, Suzanne and (Spotter too) deserve it more than someone who wasn't even sore the next day:):)!!!!
And..... I haven't done a thing since Sugarloaf and I've gained 35 lbs. I'll bike around the lake this morning.
Pineland Farms And how many races offer free beer and organic gelato?
That seems like an oxymoron. Good for you, but then again, not so much.
Pineland Farms Trail Challenge
Nice group at the track. New and old faces. Nice night for a run. Just loosening up my legs for Cabot after taking the last couple of days pretty much off.
3-mile warmup
200- 33.62, 20 jog rest 400- 68.58, 200 jog rest 600- 1:42.90, 400 jog rest 800- 2:16.22, 400 jog rest 600- 1:42.99, 200 jog rest 400- 67.95, 200 jog rest 200- 33.22
10 minute cooldown
I did 800s with Mary; she was much tougher than me and did six while I did four. There is nothing like company to make a workout that would be serious alone turn out fun. Descend, unintentional but I felt better as I went along; that's the beauty of not doing too many. : ) Great to see Lou, Brian, Tenille, Judson and Kevin again and very nice to meet Caitlin. I missed not having Mark with us. Get well soon!
2m w/u, 400,200,200,400,400 x 2, then a 1 mile c/d with our speed group. They work so hard and I am quite proud of them. It was our 10th and last week of class. Our graduation race is Memorial Day. Sounds like some good track work happening at MDI. Congratulations to Judson on the Athlete of the Week award!
Life is good.
4 easy miles in CT. Legs feel a bit tired, and didn't manage to do the pullups I normally do after. But the miles are starting to pile up:) harryb
Just a couple easy miles to see if my legs would function - they did. I ran three 800's with Caitlin to try to help her find her correct pacing.
is anyone running the Mem. Day 1 mile in Ellsworth at 9 am all flat/ downhill $10
baby joggers?
with Jean, beautiful 4 miles after riding on a plane all day. I'm looking forward to Cabot this weekend. I'm doing a early morning (3:30 am) leg so I have to remember my headlamp and reflective vest.
