What's your run?
Will you be at the track workout on Wednesday? I would like to return your book to you. If you won't be there, can I wrap in a bag and drop it in your mailbox? Thanks so much for lending it to me. :)
Hi Suzanne ,
I won't be a track. I'm in DC for meetings, back on the 8:30 Wed. You can drop it on my porch, ask folks at the track were I live right off Norway. Jean knows (others too). Thanks very very much for returning it. I hope it was interesting anyway.
and coffee. I feel like a real adult!
6 days to go :D
Going to work on arm-strengthening exercises for running form and some badly-needed ab workouts. No running today - my left calf told me so.
in about 48 min. along the riva'. A nice stretch and abs, too.
I was just told at the gym today that I have a nickname: Stevie Stairwell.
Keep running!
I LOVE it!!!
Hey Spotter, congrats on all your great races!
started 6 at 6's again today. At least for the weekdays. So come join in on the fun.
Managed about 12-k this morning. A couple of walkers out by Seven Bridges and that was about it.
Mike Bunker ran 9:17 in his first 3-k steeplechase since college only missing his PR by 8 seconds when he went to D2 nationals. If you don't know what the steeple is and if you've only hung out at HS tracks you probably don't.

Brutal videos, there. I tried hurdles in middle school and always ended up hitting a hurdle somewhere along the line (including face-planting after not making one). No vertical, no hurdles.
Steeplechase...ugh. I'll leave that to more gifted runners and race horses. Congrats to Mike on the excellent time, though!
I've run a couple steeples and it is tough. Bunker is really a natural at it. His coach left during his Junior year in college and Mike tried it and ran well. By his second or third race he'd run 9:09 and qualified for DII nationals and then placed 6th at nationals in about 9:17 to become All-American. I think because of injuries he may not have run any steeples, so he ran 4-5 his Junior year and it's been 3+ years since he's run one. So 9:17 on his first one isn't too bad. Still he needs to run about 8:40 to have any kind of shot at making the Olympic trials. He's got sub 8:50 in him, but by how much I don;t know.
..with DeLaney in Manset. Bike later....
My strength is back...no watch but ran at a good pace
I ran 4 there this morning and plan on the same loop tomorrow. Will be there at about 8:45 if anyone is interested.
..for 9 miles. Yup, I'm slow.
they don't call it that for nothing!
[Hat tip to Tom K.]
