summer
EL CCW EL CCW out and back on EL CCW to grab a shirt I'd dropped at the bottom of the hill (why I even started out wearing one is beyond me) out to the signpost at Witch Hole and back
that's 16 right? I didn't wear a watch.
if your legs feel good, mix that aero-bottle* cocktail** and GO
*Chatter thinks she's a tri bike, okay? Don't tell her otherwise. **nothing special, just gatorade
want to race me at the track today? I'll let you beat me:) I'll be there at 10 or so.
Nice work in your workout.
was it you who waved at me in Northeast?
it was me. Thanks for the helmet, it was a little dicey out there today.
in SWH. Strides, too. DeLaney tried to do the strides with me on our little dead end road, I think she has great running potential! :)
loop from Norway Dr. via Red Rock corner, then back Oak Pt. to EL. Sun felt so wonderful. How about that water on Mars? That's a huge huge deal. Wow.
They just checked in on their way home from Belgrade Lake Tri. The rain held off and they both had great races! Dave got 2nd in his age group and Mary got 3rd. She said that NO ONE passed her on the run and she passed a lot of people. I guess that transition went ok. :-) Didn't get to talk to Dave but Mary said his knee didn't bother him. Nice job doctors!
for the report, Lid!
Great job guys!
sounds like it was a good time and good weather. I look forward to hearing more from Mary about how the transitions went.
congrats, Dave and Mary. Can't wait to hear about it. Alyie
Can't wait to hear how it all went!
Dr. Dave said something about a hail storm at the TRI. Crazy.
the hail storm, or triathlon :D
Planed for 3 miles, was told at registration it was 5K, ended up finishing at 2.9 miles.
This was a bit frustrating because the last half mile was through the back fields behind the school, and I was told there would be flags marked for where we should go. There weren't. The confusion and disorientation ruined what was a great start. I finished 5th overall with a time of 20:01, but was 3rd up until the last 1/3 mile or so. I wasn't alone, though - most of the top ten lost their bearings and cut inside one of the ball fields (instead of outside) and cheated themselves out of the .2 miles remaining.
One thing I can take as consolation at least. My first two mile splits were excellent - 5:54 and 6:12. If I didn't get myself lost and flustered in that last mile, I could have finished far faster.
Oh well, I'll shake it off and get ready for Silver Lake next week!
31:22. I ran some this afternoon to get the frustration out a bit.
With the race, .5 mile warmup, 2 mile cooldown, and this run, that makes 9.65 on the day, approximately.
tom k do?
and he didn't even receive the free ice cream coupon that the rest of us got in the finish! He did pretty well considering the foot problems he had up to this point, but I'll let him give the details. :)
For anyone not running the Tremont Trot, Bob & I will be at EL at 8:00 am for a long run.
Good luck to everyone!
Good job Dave & Mary!
Rest day here with just a stroll on Ridgeway with Vanessa. Just when you think life can't get any better in the woods, Judy and Carol brought us a blueberry pie. Yummy! Yeehaw. We also got to see Karen & Eleanor yesterday. Had a beautiful EL loop with Julie yesterday.
Condolences on the stroller, Shannon. I bet you have a mileage record on that double. Can it be resurrected? Some of my best miles were behind that stroller and I'm still amazed you've powered it up Cadillac.
Good race wishes to all the Tremont Trotters tomorrow!
About 15 miles, with work interspersed throughout. Wow, wasn't it beautiful out today. Hey Bob, Danson will do his best with a drill press and aluminum angle iron to get that jogger back in action for our runs this summer! Great job Mary and Dave at the tri, and Scott and Tom at the run.
1 m w/u 8 x 1000, float the curves and sprint the straight. One lap jog rest in between. Here are the 1000 splits: 5:07, 5:08, 5:02, 4:45, 4:51, 4:50, 4:50, 4:42. Mark the math wizard said we were running about 7:45 pace. I can't wait to run my next 10k, should see a nice PR. I drafted Mark, the pacing wizard, in the last three sets, which made everything go much smoother. I had been going too fast on the sprints and too slow on the curves until he took over. Now if I can just borrow him when I race, life would be perfect:)
workout, Ginger! Mark is so great for pacing, isn't he? He told me how impressed he was with you!!! Nice work, girl!
that's nice to hear. Thanks, Suzanne. Yes, he's an excellent pacer. I should pay him $10,000 to pace me at Maine. Oh wait, I don't have $10,000.
