Tour du Lac turns into a Cake-walk, Bangor Daily News
Judson spotted me 2-1/2 minutes this morning, just to help me practice shifting gears.
Still couldn't catch Karen, though.
and she's only going to get tougher to catch, along with a few others.
I love how you always stand by your home girls. However, you should know that I had a 15+ min. head start, and I was running 10 min. miles. Oh well. Funny though, I definitely could feel someone behind me even though I couldn't see anyone. I kept looking over my shoulder. Spooky with the fog and all.
I actually only spotted Brian about 30 seconds but I stopped 3 times in the first 4 miles so it took me the whole loop to catch him.
Some humid out. 100% humidity I thought was rain, but it wasn't raining. Wish it had been raining, it felt like running through water. Blah.
Cake walk!, that was hard knowing Evan, and a sub 4 minute miler were chasing me the whole way. Evan and Eric actually battled it out up to 6 miles, so give some credit to Evan for fighting off a really good runner(4th in the trials in 1996 in the 1500) and he won the Bronze at the world indoor championship in 1995. Believe Eric is the first sub 4 minute miler from Maine(3:57) I just went out hard and didn' have to race anyone. I got the easy job of running a little scared, confident but knowing if I blew up hey'd catch me.
this week's only goal: STAY HEALTHY
For the month - swim 32,200 scy bike 27 hrs run 214.3 mi

playing with the girlie weights in the gym again! and teaching two Lunch Crunch classes in a few minutes.
June stats:
Run- 182.46 miles Bike- 97.25 miles Abs- 3000 Pushups- 1500
Actually, abs and pushups are slightly higher....I didn't include the circuit ones in there! :)
Melissa and I went to Jamaica last night:)
My jam is almost gone, I picked up Michele's jam award and I'm probably going to eat that too.
And guess who got called a bunch of times to go out with them.
Are you running long tomorrow? Where and when?
6 miles, EL at 8:45.
I am going to meet Amy Newburg at EL at 9:15 on Tuesday. All are welcome. I might thrown on a few extra miles earlier if others are interested. Just let me know.
My daughter appears to have the chicken pox:( There was a case at her daycare and now she has spots, or "pops" as she calls them. She had the vaccine but according to the CDC, it does not always prevent the disease, just makes the cases milder. It's definately mild, she does not appear ill at all, just a little grumpy and itchy and mad because she can't go play with her friends at daycare.
So to round out the month, I'm using a sick day from work, a rest day from workouts, and a daddy/daughter day around the house with the spotty girl:)
Here's my June Stats: Run: 101.2 miles, the point 2 comes from the Y 10k, ha bike: 88 miles bike trainer: 4hr 30min elliptical: 30 min, not sure why I got inspired, but it didn't happen again
Watch for spots!
44:08. The sun came out as soon as I started running and the humid air felt like it was igniting. I started crashing after 3 miles - I managed a sub-8 pace in the last .67 but it took some effort. Legs feel like lead, too.
171 miles running for the month.
Walked from Duck Brook Bridge around Paradise Hill & Witches Hole with Vanessa. Got to walk and talk with Bob & Becky on the way back. It seemed kind of eerie out there with all the early morning fog. Life is good in the woods.
how wondrous. i hinted a brief wiff of bacon in the air today.
Boy, missing that race for the first time since I started running (not that long, I know) has me feeling like it is time to get back into the game.
The body is bloated, but I think my head is back where I need it to be in order to run. and run. and run.
and HI!!!!
PM at the track with Coach C. supervising, after commuting out as part of his own long run.
Humid out there. But I'm not making excuses. The 200s were fine, and one of the 1000s wasn't bad.
Ran out to Eagle Lake, around the lake and then out to the HS track and then finished with some miles on the track with some faster stuff.
Autumn and I are going out tonight so I wanted to get my long run out of the way before she got out of work at 4. Which meant it was a hot one. A couple of bikers passed me in the first mile around the lake but I passed them for good going up the hill.
....but please hug your loved ones close tonight. I just found out my 44 year old cousin died suddenly at work. He leaves behind the love of his life and 3 young children. Life is short and precious!
You posted some miles ~ is your injury getting better?
I tried to run on Saturday and only made it 4 miles and my IT band said it was time to stop. I guess another week of bike, ET, walking and weights is in store for me. How is your knee?
...my knee's fine (it's actually the muscle in back of the knee that's annoying me a bit, but I know how to help that now!) it's my back that's been the big issue, though it's pretty good as long as I keep moving!
Get well soon!
5-k Olympic trials finals tonight. Thomas and Kyle are living the dream. Go guys. I'm so psyched.
6 at 6 tomorrow for all that want to come join in.
And finally, party on Garth, party on Wayne.
...Results
Thomas Morgan ZAP Fitness 13:47.76 Kyle King ZAP Fitness 13:51.03
well but the WR/12:37 (see top of results page) and Steve Prefontaine's 13:22 in '72 sure stick out. It'd be interesting to compare Prefontaine's log book with the elite American runners of today. Comparing the shoes would be fun too.
humid but no rain for a switch.Started late 8:19pm.Holding off until evening at Back Cove pays off in summer.Less traffic to dodge.
